Alta Sierra Village Inn

They don't offer a breakfast, fine with me, motel breakfasts are usually awful. The room included a small fridge, microwave, shampoo, soap (more than a small wedge that so many two star places are using now. The bed had a blanket. The room had a table, chairs and a nightstand. There was a balcony that had a country club golf course and pond, the view marred by junk (an old discarded recliner) immediately below the balcony on the property itself. Still, Much better value than Motel Sux.

The pricing on the webpage and advertised by Booking.com was slightly inaccurate. Booking said I would be charged 100.99, I was charged 108.75. This was explicit, not due to taxes. The base price, exclusive of taxes was advertised as $91. The pet policy said a $25 charge for one pet, it was $35.00. The view from the balcony was marred by junk immediately below.

No windows to open at night so turned on the AC, my girlfriend and I both had coughs the next day and it’s lasting over a week. Guessing the filter hasn’t been cleaned or maintained for years.

Great location for my purposes

Nice cabin feel room. The heater worked well.

Long-term lodgers with unsupervised children running up and down wood sidewalk. Sign said to be cautious as the wooden balcony was unsafe. Bed wasn't the greatest.

There was a discarded recliner just off my deck, in line with the view of the lake. And the A/C was unplugged when I got there (it was 93 degrees inside), so it took awhile for the room and the bed to cool off.

We booked as a last minute stay on July 4 weekend and the manager let us check in at 12:30pm not the 3pm scheduled time. Room was very clean, AC and fan worked well. Staff was friendly and accomodating. AC and fan kept us cool. Liked that there was a bathtub after a long day swimming at the river.
