B&B Izumi Nikko

The B&B was in lovely surroundings - the room was great with a very pleasant outlook from the terrace onto woodland and a stream. The Japanese breakfasts (we had a different one on each of the 2 days). The host, Izumi, was so helpful - picking us up from the station and taking us into the town for dinner.

The property was perfect - absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. Just a bit far to walk to the centre of town in the evening - but Izumi drove us in.

Very traditional looking place but very comfortable. The bathroom is very modern. Izumi is extremely kind and helpful and welcoming. We had such a perfect stay!

Izumi's Japanese breakfast was fantastic with something different every day. He also picked us up from the JR station. We saw deer in the local area.

It was a little far out of town for a restaurant but Izumi ran us down one night. There are regular buses as well within 800m.

Der Aufenthalt war super! Die Zimmer sind einfach, sauber und im traditionellen japanischen Stil mit Tatami-Matten eingerichtet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist Herr Izumi, der Besitzer, und sein wunderbares Frühstück, das er selbst zubereitet – es war wirklich köstlich. Die Lage ist ruhig, direkt am Fluss, sodass man das Wasserplätschern vom Zimmer/Balkon aus hören kann. Mit etwas Glück sieht man sogar Rehe. Herr Izumi ist zudem äusserst hilfsbereit, gibt tolle Restaurantempfehlungen und unterstützt auch bei Reservierungen, was besonders praktisch ist, da Mittwoch und Donnerstag in Nikko viele Restaurants Ruhetage haben.

Ein Auto ist empfehlenswert, da die Unterkunft etwas abgelegen liegt. Wir hatten selbst ein Auto, aber Herr Izumi bietet anderen Gästen einen praktischen Transportservice an.

Izumi-san is an excellent host. From catering beautiful Japanese breakfasts, recommending great restaurants, guiding us through our lodging and the local sites to visit. Sitting on the deck facing the forest, with a gorgeous stram running just below us. Three deer showed up the first evening, as well as a couple of badgers. It was so peaceful, a real anecdote to a few days of crazy crowds in Tokyo!

The only issue is that B&B Izumi is a few minutes' drive out of the town. However, we hired a car, which was really worthwhile to get around. Izumi-san is happy to drive you to and from the station if you choose not to get a car.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderbar: sauber, mit viel ästhetischem Gefühl gestaltet und einen sehr schönen Balkon mit Waldblick. Izumi-san ist ein fantastischer Gastgeber. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohlgefühlt. Zudem war das Frühstück (wir haben das japanische gewählt) unglaublich lecker. Es liegt etwas abseits, aber in 15 min zu Fuß ist man bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Es gibt auch einen Bus. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben!!
