B&B Izumi Nikko

We traveled by car. Access to every place was convenient and easy. The location is magical, quiet, above a stream. The entire property is impeccably maintained. It felt as if we were the first... to stay in the tatami room and use the shower. Izumi, the host, thinks of every little detail. A considerate and generous host. We received help we didn’t expect at all, and it was offered naturally and kindly. We had three Japanese breakfasts at the place. Each one was different, and all of them were very tasty and generous. Without a doubt, on our next trip to Nikko, we’ll stay here again.

Offered American (Eggs and bacon) breakfast as well as Japanese breakfast. Both were great!

The B&B is a little bit of a walk from the town (30 minutes). However it is very close to the shrines and the walk is actually quite nice. Izumi also drove us to town a few times which was very kind.

The property is located in a beautiful forest, so the atmosphere at the balcony is magical. You need to be prepared to walk a little bit to reach the sights but it was a pleasure as you walk through pretty nature (and we love walking). The room is comfortable and the breakfasts Izumi-San makes are delicious!

There was a little stream directly below the balcony of our room, and occasionally families of deer were playing there. We know it sounds almost too good to be true, but we're not making this up! Izumi-san was extremely friendly and helpful, the lodgings were immaculate, and the breakfeast among the best we had on our trip. The place is close to the temples and shrines, and a bus stop is nearby if you want to go to hiking in the Lake Chuzenji area like we we did. Highly recommended, we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

It was an absolute gem in the middle of the beautiful nature of Nikko and right next to a little creek (Had a terrace view on it). That combined with the great hospitality of Izumi, made the stay just perfect! Due to the traditional tatami floor and room style, it was a real authentic japanese experience :)

- incredibly beautiful room and terrace. Very cute, comfortable and romantic :) - deer in the morning and in the evening was a plus - very nice Japanese breakfast with a full explanation of each little plate - excellent host. Izumi was very helpful and polite. He picked us up and took us to the station. Book a restaurant for us. Helped us find the best routes for our hikes. Very sweet and hard working!

- internet speed is slow (maybe for the best to enjoy the beautiful nature) - to get around independently one needs yo be prepared to walk. The B&B is in a remote place. But it was not a problem for us, just something to know
