Cleveden House by The Dunvegan

I had stayed at Clevedon House several years ago when it was a B and B. I had not realised that there would be no contact with staff and no breakfast offered (paying for bed only usually means you pay additionally for breakfast not that there is none and in fact the welcome booklet for guests states that breakfast is offered!). Not being .able to book in until after 3pm was extremely inconvenient and the whole experience was stressful.

No email confirmation so had to google number, Only to call an unmonitored voicemail. Eventually got into property to find its a tiny box room with a bathroom in a cupboard. The heating was faulty, the lamp and tv broken, no wardrobe for clothes, but they know this, if you look at other reviews, they all say the same thing about faulty lamps, heating and tv. Don't be fooled by robes and slippers in the add, its not whats advertised. Ive stayed in other guest houses in that area and the standard is way ahead. The room rate reflects the area, not the room, so best find somewhere else unless its all that's left.

Very small shower room. Heating didn’t seem to be working. But clean and had what we signed up for. Would return no problem.

All good except the TV didn't work.

Lovely guest house in a great location. Nice clean room with good facilities. Would recommend for a good central location in St Andrews.

Let’s talk about my confirmation with hotel

Check-in was easy and flexible to fit my arrival time which required 4 or so hours flexibility. Great breakfast, clean facility, and great location.

Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped but very small. Ok for 1 night but would have felt very cramped on a longer stay. There was also a really musty smell.
