Cosy and convenient Warm room

Poor choice of continental breakfast. Needed painting inside

The guesthouse is located just a few minutes walk from the centre. My room was small although lovely and clean, very tastefully decorated and had a selection of tea and coffee and also toiletries - nice thoughtful touches.

There is building work taking place on the actual property- renovation of the attic I believe, which they fail to tell you until they send you the self check in details on the morning of your arrival. I was in room 7 - which should definitely not be used during this time. The scaffolding is against the wall of this room and just before 8am on Saturday morning I was woken by two workmen at each of my windows, drilling, hammering and shouting. The noise level was horrendous not to mention the total lack of privacy. I'm not sure if in other rooms it was this bad, but this work I was told, will be continuing for the next six weeks. I also read the questions and answers relating to the guest house before booking, which included leaving luggage before and after arrival. However, since they have now moved to self check in, this service is no longer available - they really should consider updating this information. Although they did eventually respond to my request about the luggage saying they would try to accommodate me, it was after I had arrived and had since made alternative arrangements. If I had known all of the above before booking (and paying) I would not have stayed here.

A beautiful room and incredibly kind staff. Let me drop off a bag before check in and moved it down to my room so it was there when I arrived in the evening. Easy, contactless check in. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well, so didn't get to try the breakfast, but the owner/manager noticed I hadn't come to breakfast and came to check if I wanted anything. Really appreciated the kindness.

Great location for racecourse and town centre. Easy to follow instructions for accessing accommodation, very friendly staff.

Third time we have stayed here as the location is excellent for the town centre and it's good value for money. Lovely building. Used the public car park across the road but you can arrange on street parking with the hotel which is usually close by.

Sad to see cooked breakfast has been removed since we last stayed. Adequate self service breakfast available
