The Weatherdene

Location for the beach was great. Having the whole top floor for the family was good too. Liked the night light next to the single bed in our room, would be great for children. Bed was comfy.

Fire doors for safety was good however there are not any handles on the inside so you have to open the very heavy doors by the latch. Due to my disability I was unable to open these doors so had to wait for family to let me out. Small fridge in room did not get cool so couldn't use. Shower looked quite grubby and was unable to use if anyone else in building was using as went from cold to scalding hot. Doors, skirting boards and walls need cleaning, rather large greasy mark on wall in my room and doors were filthy. Edges of carpets and bottom of bedroom furniture very dusty. Looking behind the sofa in the lounge was quite dirty with the same being under the beds and behind bedroom furniture, really does need a deep clean. Extra charge of £40.00 for fresh towels and a bit of housekeeping seemed expensive. Terrible smell of rotten eggs when we first turned on the shower so had to put bleach down the drain. Fridge in lounge was not clean and the jug in small broken fridge in bedroom had not been cleaned, old milk in bottom. Hairs and dust in drawers in bedroom.

Close to seaside, tea and coffee facilities in room and kids were able to borrow a dvd.

Heavy fire doors to rooms were an absolute nightmare, especially with young children. Doors lock behind you, so if you haven’t got the keys on you, you are locked out. Happened on one occasion and someone was able to come and help. We occupied 4 rooms and weren’t able to move freely between them. The amount of times the kids got their fingers trapped in the fast closing doors was ridiculous. Nearly checked out early due to this. I look after several Airbnb’s and have never come across such heavy, automatic slamming doors. Seemed very unnecessary. Also the TV didn’t work in family room. Did report it but nothing was done.

From checking in to checking out. Our room even comes with a mini fridge & 2 table fans which was very handy. The place itself was quiet even during peak season. Cloae to tourist/visitor attractions. Lots of shops & restaurant nearby. Georgia (host) was brilliant at communicating & assisting us all the way through.

The room was very comfortable and close to all the amenities which were a short walk. Georgia was extremely helpful and was prompt on responding to any queries I had.

The room itself got extremely hot, it would benefit from a fan being in the room. The guesthouse itself would be beneficial if there was lights outside the front door so we could see when unlocking the front door as I had to keep using my phone torch.

Was only a short distance to beach/bars/restaurants.

Local kids playing out, which is understandable but, not late at night. That was only fault.

Good location, room was very clean I wasn’t sure why it was called deluxe , it was a standard room with a very small bathroom.

Rooms were nice but had draw backs, there were no child safety locks on windows ( restrictors) caught my 3 year old grandson hanging out of one, small mini fridge in one room not working noise extractor fan in the kitchen area one not working in our room towels were very damp and like sandpaper to use was there for 7 days and not once was rooms cleaned not toilet paper or toiletries as stated on booking.com but I had to pay £60 cleaning in the price of rooms which i should get back no sea view as advertised just a grotty old gothic Church all fenced off was not good to wake up to every morning it was noise of a night as the is a cafe come bar all most opposite my 89 year old mum could not manage the stairs did ask for first floor but think was over booked, in fact I think every thing on booking.com that advertised is wrong o ye and he washing was being done on our floor to by cleaner and then the towels were left drying over radiators who wants to see this on holiday I don't Only thing what was nice as said was the rooms Fill like I was over charged.

Location was good. Close to the sea front. Room was very clean. Having a (very) small fridge was good.

We didn't know what to do with our rubbish, by the time we left we had 3 carrier bags full . We did text and asked what to do, but no one answered until the day before we left. The tea and coffee sachets where not filled up. We didn't think once we finished the 4 sachets of tea and coffee that would be it for the 4 nights we stayed. I know the booking said it was now self catering ,but a fridge and a kettle is not self catering. We were a bit disappointed.

Very hot 10 night stay , no change of bedding , no clean towels. 2 bath towels 1 hand towel for 2 people , Poor wi fi hit & miss . Television was offline with no signal almost every day , had to keep asking for it to be retuned , we are an elderly couple out all day sight seeing like to watch telly in the evening & chill , so disappointed. Room 4 Deluxe rated .
