CASA MARÍA MALECÓN

Excellent location, 1 block from beach and Malecon. During the unrest in Mexico, when we had to shelter in place, our host was kind enough to bring sandwiches and water and in the event, extended our stay for a complimentary night. The apartment (#6) we had to move into, because of a cancelled flight, was a bit cramped for us, with a very small dark bedroom and tight living / kitchen space. The kitchen lacked several amenities but the shared kitchen elsewhere in the building was available to us. The bathroom was large and very clean and functional. And the bed was comfortable if a little small. Wifi reception was not great in this location.

Very comfortable space, easy to jump into a routine in it. The bed is great, the AC worked well, the tvs work like new, the check in was easy, the staff is friendly and tried to help with any request.

There’s very loud clubs that work every night very close. Even with earplugs, they are heard at nighttime until early morning. A 10/10 place would also supply bulk necessities like salt, oil, detergent.

Que no me cambiaron las toallas, aunque creo que fue parte de mi responsabilidad pedirlas. Pero al ser una posada no es que hagan la limpieza en la habitación (pero eso lo sabes desde que contratas) pero no vi a nadie para pedirles toallas jaja ):

It’s bright and comfortable for a night or two.

This place is very clean, spacious and quiet. It is located 1/2 block from the malecón. The bed is very comfortable. There is hot water. The staff were very accommodating.

I found nothing to dislike.

Upon arrival, we were given a key and access to the room, but after that, communication with the host was nonexistent. We made several attempts to reach out during our stay, with no response at any point. The place is colorful and visually appealing; however, the overall level of cleanliness, particularly in the bathroom, did not meet expectations and suggests a lack of proper maintenance rather than an issue with cleaning staff. The property offers a kitchen that looks nice, but it is not adequately equipped, as there were no forks or basic utensils needed to cook. The Wi-Fi password provided did not work. Additionally, there was a sign in the room stating that check-out was at 12:00, yet we received a message instructing us to check out at 11:00, with no follow-up or clarification. Overall, the operation feels more like an Airbnb-style property; however, even in similar accommodations, host communication is usually much better. In this case, the lack of host support and general maintenance significantly affected the experience. The service provided did not meet the basic standards expected from a Booking.com accommodation.

I loved the colourful room and very close location to the Malecon. Also the upstairs balcony was a nice place to relax.

I didn’t realize until after my stay there there could be hot water. If you have any issues with this staff will be happy to help you. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner as there was sand in the shower.
