The Place by the Sea

It was not 5 star it was not very clean, bedding was very poor quality, lots of flys. We had to pay £100 for any damage, which I can't understand why when it was very poor. It was hot when we stayed there and the majority of the windows did not open.

Trish the owner was fantastic. I told her it was a special birthday and she decorated the living room for us. You can see the sea from the living room. The bedrooms are really big and the top room was huge. The outside space was nice and we used it a lot. Kitchen had most things you needed. There were games that kept my kids entertained. Tram stop 2 minutes away and free parking at the front of the property.

I wouldn’t describe the property as luxury. It was £675 for 2 nights and this was a more expensive property than a lot and we were happy to pay for a luxurious apartment. It was nice but not luxury. The property is above a business on a busy road. There are 2 sets of stairs up to the top. When the members of our party arrived the property wasn’t cleaned to a standard we would expect. There was a clump of hair on the toilet, sand on the window ledge. There isn’t enough space in the living room for 7 people, 1 sofa and chair, so we sat on dining chairs which isn’t ideal. There is 1 toilet and shower room on the 1st level, I would add a 2nd toilet upstairs. This didn’t bother us but it might others. The smallest room - you cannot open the velux window or shut the blind (it was falling off a bit as well). You can’t open the windows in the living room so it was boiling. There was a fan provided (which was nice) but it didn’t really help. The rooms were all a little run down, needs a touch up throughout. I always base reviews on if I would go again, and sadly I wouldn’t.

The property was very spacious, feels like home as everything we needed was provided like a hotel. The host has been communicating with us from the beginning.

shower and bath in 1 room. Toilet and sink in another. There’s only 1 single seat and a 2 seater in the living area to accommodate everyone!!

Great location. 20 mins walk to tower.

We were pre warned not to use too much heating. The house was cold and most windows locked shut so no air circulating and is a complete fire hazard. It was run down and dirty. Clumps of hair found around the carpets. Stained pillows. A used condom on a window ledge. Kitchen cupboards were dirty. Camp bed provided were broke or had springs missing. Not what we expected paying nearly £500 for 2 nights. Wouldn’t rush back.
