Shikinosato Hanamura

Suberb ryokan, old-style and stylish. Excellent service. On top of your own onsen (in our room), there were very lovely common onsens for women and men separately. The Kaiseki dinner was very good.

Room was clean and comfortable. we had a private bath in the room. Staff was also very patient in showing us around the ryokan. We reached the ryokan around 2pm. Staff told us to come back again at 3pm (check in time). As we were about to leave, the staff ran out again to inform us that our room was actually ready. so they allowed us to check in before 3pm. We had our dinner and breakfast in a private room, next to the lobby. It was my first time trying horse sashimi. it tasted so good. Kaiseki dinner was beyond awesome.

The food is fine. The in-room open air onsen is good. Clean room. Reasonably spacious.

We informed the ryokan about our bus arrival time. The ryokan accepted our request for pick up, but did not come until we called. It was a rainy day. Other ryokans pick-up cars waited at the bus stop and we were the only ones left in the rain.

Lovely room and fabulous dinner and breakfast

We had a lovely onsen in our private bathroom though it desperately needed painting and lots of mould around the skirting.

The distance from the town, but it ended up being fine for us because we just liked relaxing at the ryokan the whole time.
