Hotel San Jose

very cute and roomy - loved it

We chose the Hotel San Jose on the suggestion of family members who live in Austin (who have never stayed at the hotel, but thought it looked cool). One week after our return home, my husband and I are STILL talking about how much we enjoyed our stay there. The location on South Congress is superb, with plenty of walkable shopping and restaurants. It's right across the street from the Continental Club - but good music is available right on property some evenings in the Lounge. The ambiance of the facility is both casual and elegant. Our second-floor room was a good size, featured a comfortable bed and linens, and included nice amenities (we love the colorful bathroom robes). The landing outside featured a nicely-sized table and chairs, where we enjoyed our free Jo's coffee on one of the mornings (and was also utilized by some of the other guests one of the evenings - it just lends itself for socializing). But the best feature of the Hotel San Jose is its collection of friendly, helpful staffers. Every request we made was fulfilled quickly and with a smile. We look forward to our next visit to Austin and the Hotel San Jose.

Unique and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and cool. The location is perfect and the vibe is the best. I recommend it highly.

The San Jose Hotel has my heart. We visited for the first time for my birthday weekend. My family is a unique bunch that perfers some quirk with their luxury and San Jose hit all the marks. The property is quaint and stunning without being fussy. The staff was charming and polite but casual and welcoming. They felt like friends. I love Austin but I’m being honest, when I visit again, it will partially be just to stay at this hotel again. I fell in love.

The hotel is cool and very Austin. Great location, nice room, and delicious breakfast. It had a great vibe and friendly staff.

The AC in our room was too loud; it really disturbed our sleep. Prices at the bar were too high, and $30 for overnight parking was also too much.

Beautiful outdoors

Hotel San Jose is a hidden refuge in the heart of a vibrant part of Austin's South Congress area. The vibe is that of boutique L.A. mixed with Caribbean relaxed accented by a techie adaptation of an old school building and grounds. It's actually hard to describe. Super friendly and helpful staff (they even helped me send a fax if anyone knows what that is) with simple but adequately appointed rooms that have a utilitarian elegance to them. Street noise is buffered by the well thought out architectural design (they knew what they were doing back in the day) and the location is ideal. Hotel San Jose to me represents all that is cool, fun and welcoming about Austin. It is a bucket list hotel for any one visiting the area.

Hotel San Jose is nestled in its own little maze of trees and quietness. The room was quite the thing, spacious and comfortable. The front desk employees were welcoming and helpful. The bartender was pleasant and made some great drinks. This was my second visit and sure my wife and I will return soon.
