KONAYUKI

Do not look any further, staying at Konayuki took our snow holiday from a great holiday to an amazing holiday. While we wanted the traditional village experience that Myoko offers, the hosts helped us with the language barrier, they booked and recommended traditional/tasty places to eat. There was a great place to eat two doors down but most nights we took the opportunity to walk the 10mins into Akakura to stretch our legs after being in ski boots all day. Had a relaxed bar and great food on offer in their beautifully appointed common room after a big day on the snow fields which are just across the road. This was a great opportunity to hear which slopes all the other guests were on and help plan the next day outings. For the other great snow resorts, the local bus is just out the front or Ken the host drove us the 1/2 hr. All very easy to navigate. It's been a tough break through Covid for the tourist areas but Konayuki took this down time to renovate, so it is actually one of the sharpest looking accommodations on offer, fresh, clean & new. New western bathrooms and toilets, they will even run a beautiful deep private bath (spa/onsen) for you. Big drying room and a big highlight everyday was the breakfast which was different every day. We stayed a week (family of 4) in the bigger bedroom which had enough space to accommodate our 4 bags. Cannot wait to go back

There is not one bad thing I can say

Konayuki is in a fantastic location in close proximity to Kanko lifts, great facilities, very clean and wonderful hosts. The owners are super friendly and made our stay an amazing one. Nice Izakaya restaurant also a few doors down. This is our second trip to Myoko, Konayuki is a great base for skiing in Akakura and beyond with quite a few ski fields within close reach for day trips also. Look forward to staying again some time.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, so helpful, friendly, and personal. The hosts always went out of their way to offer help and make things easy. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage for all of our gear, including a large dry room. The accommodation is very authentic Japanese which makes it feel very homely. The breakfast was delicious and different everyday. The accommodation is close to town for food, across the road from one of the ski fields, and has a great bar.

Konayuki is fantastic. A beautiful lodge with the most attentive and welcoming hosts. We really felt welcome and comfortable here. It was warm, the beds were comfortable, our room was not huge but a reasonable size, it has nice hot showers and they will have a warm bath waiting for you when you get off the slopes. Great location to the mountain and a short walk from the town. We would stay there again and highly recommend.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had in Japan. My room was quite big for Japanese standards and the whole place was very clean. It has a traditional Japanese feel with a Western touch. Kenji and his wife are the most amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. He picked us up from the bus stop, helped us with lift passes, dinner recommendations and reservations. He even carried my snowboard up and down the stairs at Myoko station when I left. It is right across from the Akakura Kanto gondola. Breakfast was amazing too! I cannot recommend this place enough.

Kenji and his wife are the most amazing hosts we have come across. Both so hospitable, helpful and welcoming. They were there to offer help with transfers, food recommendations, travel to and from the train station and ski field, delicious breakfasts, even ran us a spa bath and drove me to the hospital after an accident (staying with me the whole time to help with translation). We couldn’t recommended you to stay at this accommodation any more - don’t look any further! Located at the bottom of the more advanced slopes and only a short walk to the shops. Thank you both for a wonderful stay - we will be back!
