Kakrona Pouk Homestay

Location is far from the city but if you're sick of too many people and want a place to relax and chill this is the place to be. The host (Meta) is truly funny and the best tour guide for floating village and other tourism places, all you gotta do is tell him where you want to go and he will go far and beyond to help you out.

Not much to not like about this place but should mention if you are not a fan of bugs and insects as this homestay is right in nature. Mosquito net provided for sleeping.

The host was flexible and met all of our requests.

Unfortunately the place looked liked hadn't been receiving any guest for a while as everything was dusted and not properly clean. In particular the bathroom was in a poor state and the toilet got clogged on the first night

Meta, the owner of the homestay, was the most amazing man. He welcomed me into his home and family and showed me around his country with passion and joy. He gave me personal tours of Angkor Wat and the floating village on Tonle Sap lake. I stayed in a little private bungalow that had the sweetest porch, a fan inside to keep cool, and hot water. If you need anything, Meta or his family, is there to help in an instant. The property is 30 minutes from town but Meta will arrange a tuk tuk easily or I rented a bike to make it easy. Staying at Kakrona Pouk homestay let me experience true Cambodian life and I am forever grateful.

This is a bungalow in a small village in Cambodia, there is no ac or luxury amenities but that is part of the experience!

The property was absolutely spacious and very relaxed. The cats and dogs and parrot made it feel so homely.

The water was not very hot

The host of the homestay is a cool dude. He's got so much going on and willing for you to be part of every part of that including just hanging with him and his friends who are really inclusive and lovely. He took us on several tours including to Angkor which he helped make into a really great day. He's a fantastic guide.

He's building a couple of other little bungalows in his rice field, so when we stayed it wasn't as private or serene as the photos depicted. But price was reduced, so I think that was accounted for.

Thankyou Meta for a wonderful homestay. From our first interaction when picked up from the bus, through to being dropped off in the heart of Siem Reap, it was an excellent service. The accommodation is surrounded by rice fields, very quiet and serene. There is a bathroom with toilet and cool water shower. We appreciated the fan in our cute cabin while relaxing in the hammok. There is a local store to buy water and cold drinks. Meta's wife prepared delicious food for us. Meta and his family were delightful. Such a great experience. Take the opportunity to stay at this homestay. You won't be disappointed.

The owner Kama is very friendly and was waiting for us at the airport for free!!!The house is made from perm tree and it’s like in jungle!!!The house location is a bit far from the city,so We could see local people and foods because Kama took us.They gave us presents for welcoming us.It’s such a beautiful days.

Because of tree house,we can listen to the sounds of heavy rain,but it’s alright. To the city is a bit far.
