Kakrona Pouk Homestay in Siem Reap left a deep impression on me, more than I could have ever anticipated. From the moment I arrived, Meta, the incredible host, welcomed me into his world with such warmth and sincerity that I almost forgot I was a guest. He wasn’t just a host—he was family, a friend, and a guide all wrapped into one. Meta took care of everything, anticipating every need with such ease and genuine care that I felt more at home than I ever thought possible while traveling. Meta became not only the cook, tuk-tuk driver, and guide but also my personal photographer and bike companion. His incredible kindness made every day feel like an adventure with an old friend. Whether it was sharing stories about the local culture or biking through the peaceful countryside, his presence was always comforting and full of life. It was more than just a stay—it was an experience woven with heartfelt moments. Meta’s dedication to making everyone feel welcome, introducing me to his family and friends, and sharing the beauty of Cambodia made it even harder to leave. Saying goodbye felt like leaving behind a piece of my heart. This homestay will forever remain one of the most touching experiences I’ve had, thanks to Meta’s boundless hospitality and the deep connections he helped create. I can’t wait to return.

We got to stay in an amazing and beautiful hut in the middle of the rice field. The sunset and rise were incredible!! Comfortable bed, and we were grateful for the musquito net and hammock. The host, Meta, accompanied us to an alligator farm and the floating village Mechrey, where we did a boat tour. We had dinner with everyone and it was a lovely experience. Meta and his family are an amazing host.

The hut could have been slightly more clean but it didn’t bother us

This was an amazing rural experience 20 minutes outside of Siem Reap town! We got live the life of Meta (the host) for a couple days, which was truly insightful into authentic Cambodian life. Meta was a great host, and took us to his rice farm to catch frogs, snake and crabs to feast on (for free!) He also took us the local silk and crocodile farm. The homestay is tucked away amongst rice fields and has a little shop next door for beer etc. Thank you Meta for a wonderful time! :)

the hospitality was excellent. 5 minutes after my arrival I was invited to a wedding, where I was warmly welcomed by everyone. the owner woke me up the next day to go to Angkor Wat together, and gave me a private tour in his tuk tuk

I can't think of anything that disappointed me. If you like peace and quiet, this is the place

We loved this place. After traveling through Asia for a while this was the first place we felt sorry to leave behind. Meta and his family are very good people. Village life in Cambodia is something different. Something you really need to experience. It's way better than staying in luxury. The people in the village are so authentic. Also we enjoyed good homemade food at Meta's place. So go there hungry.

Meta is an incredible host, that was an amazing experience because of him showing the real life of the locals.

Such an amazing homestay and Meta and his family are the nicest hosts ever. The location is outside of Siem Reap but Puok is a lovely village and Meta will make sure to guide you around so you’ll have the best experience. He took me to the Crocodile farm and the silk farm and even helped me later on with transportation. The bungalows are simple but well equipped and it was lovely to sleep in the nature! Thank you Meta for everything! 😊

Meta was an incredible guide and host. He took us to all the local events during the Khmer new year, gave us breakfast and dinner and took us to all the places worth visiting nearby (sky pool, crocodile farm, etc). He also drove us wherever and whenever we needed to go somewhere.

We chose the cheapest bungalow which only comes with a fan. It was hot during the nights, but there are other options with AC as well.

The host was amazing, he made the stay a lot of fun, helped us schedule things and showed us around the local area

AC was not great, it worked but not that strong, also wifi is very spotty and weak most of the time
