"Fantastic host in a fantastic location. Would go back in a heart beat."

10.0

Amazing rustic property - we got to stay in 2 bungalows in the middle of some rice paddies! Meta let us fish for catfish in the pond and the sunsets were incredible. Meta is amazing! He helped us with all our sightseeing - he advised us wisely about a few things and has his own tuk tuk, so was our chauffeur and tour guide. Always packed a cool box with cold water (and usually beer too) for us, which was invaluable after walking around the temples in 32 degrees. We joined Meta for diner on the first night, which was lovely. His wife made us some big bags for all our washing (family of 4), which was so sweet. All in all and incredible host and amazing experience. Thank you Meta!

Not a negative, just something to know- the property is quite a way out of the city, so does take a bit of time to come and go, but we really enjoyed the rides in the tuk tuk both ways and being in the middle of a rice field!. Meta organised his friend, Mr Ann to be our second driver, so we always had a friendly face to drive us around.

"Nice but too far from amenities"

The countryside was nice and it was quiet in the night.

16km is too far from Siem Reap.

"The best experience we have in Asia"

10.0

Meta (the owner) he is the most incredible guys we meet in Asia. So kind, so nice really happy to show all the culture of is country. It’s really simple, when you arrive he take the time to explain all the things you can do in siem Reap and you can trust him at 100%. If you want a reel authentic experience this is the place !

"Unforgettable experience"

10.0

Staying at the Kakrona Pouk Homestay was an unforgettable way to experience the beauty of Cambodia and its countryside culture. I loved immersing myself in their daily routines and witnessing their way of life up close. From being close with nature, exploring Angkor Wat, visiting local school, attending a Cambodian birthday party to visiting the silk farm, driving around, seeing crocodiles, and enjoying delicious local food, every moment was special. Choosing this place was the best decision, as the kindness and generosity of the people I met truly made my journey incredible. Waking up in a bungalow surrounded by rice fields to breathtaking sunrises and ending the day with stunning sunsets are memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you, Meta, and your wonderful family for sharing everything with me—I’ll definitely be back soon!

Authenticity of the place and the management. Feeling of nature and original khmer living style (countryside).

Some space can be slightly tidy up, but overall beautiful!

"Super friendly owner, rooms ok"

8.0

Super friendly owner who told us a lot about the Khmer history. We didn't hire him as driver to get around Ankor as we hired motorbikes, however I am sure you can learn a lot from him when you do hire him! On the day of our arrival he brought us to a rice field to watch the sunset which was very beautiful. And his wife prepared a very delicious dinner for us on the evening. It was my mum's birthday on the second day and he organised a birthday cake which was very nice of him. The rooms were basic although it says delux room (there is warm water and AC). The owner has a lot of cool old stuff in the room which was very interesting. The place is around 30min out of town. We really liked the location as it was very quiet and far away from the busy town.

We stayed in the delux double room and the delux two bed room. Although it's delux, it is pretty basic. The AC is very old, and there is a lot of mould on the ceilings in the bed room and bathroom.

"Real countryside experience"

Very good distance from Siem Reap, perfect to avoid the overturism of the city, but we suggest to rent a motorbike once arrived in the city, because the risk is to be dependent from tuk tuks.

I’ve been staying here for three weeks now, and every moment has been filled with joy and tranquility. There are many interesting places nearby, such as a crocodile farm, a silk factory, and floating villages with fisherman families who offer boat tours. The hosts are incredibly friendly and attentive, fulfilling your wishes even before you voice them. Of course, the nearby Angkor Wat ruins are the main reason I came here. The host not only took me around all the ruins, showing me the most beautiful spots and giving tips on places I could explore on my own, but he also took plenty of amazing photos and videos for my channel, creating beautiful content. Within walking distance, there are several cozy cafes where you can enjoy delicious meals, or simply sit and work in the comfort of air conditioning with a cup of coffee or a smoothie. If you’re in the mood for simple, budget-friendly local food, the hosts are always ready to cook up a generous portion of hearty Cambodian dishes. While there isn’t a special menu, you can request something specific, but I enjoyed leaving the choice to the hosts. Every day, they surprised me with something new and unique from the local cuisine. The homestay is surrounded by a beautiful garden, making it the perfect place for meditation, solitude, and admiring the pristine beauty combined with the simplicity of rural life. The sunsets over the fields are stunning and will forever remain in my memory. The hostess of the homestay sewed me special white clothing in her home sewing workshop, and that very evening, I found myself meditating in a local temple to the chants of Buddhist monks. She also helped me sew dresses to my specifications, making the experience even more personal and special. The host organized the meditation in the temple, making the experience even more unforgettable.

It's a middle of a village, so the inside is a bit village vibe. But I liked it too. Just good to know before you come.
