Nagomiya Kyoto Gion

The beds and pillows were sooooo comfortable!!! The host was so helpful. He met us at the room and spent ages going over everything there is to do in kyoto and surrounds. He had a map with everything highlighted as well as a book showing everything. After a very bad experience in osaka for the start of our trip this was a great way to put our holiday back on track. And the location was absolutely perfect!!!!

The location was excellent. The host provided a list of famous attractions. The beds were reasonably comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery.

The door key was really difficult to use, and needs maintenance. The location was difficult to find, and the owners instructions were hard to follow as the images didn't reflect the current layout of the surrounding area. The tatami was stained as were some of the duvet covers. The host was very anxious and on-edge, somewhat understandably due to having had bad experiences with guests. Still, it was not the most welcoming atmosphere.

The location was excellent. It was easy to explore Gion and we felt safe. The property was in a good place for catching buses and trains as well. There are many food places in the area. The upstairs living area and kitchen were good. The hosts were gracious letting us drop our bags early.

We all slept in one room downstairs. It was difficult to sleep with the lighted exit sign in our bedroom. The room glowed a bright green. Three of us stayed. It had one room for sleeping with four beds. The duvet on the spare bed was badly stained. It did not have a cover on it. My duvet was also stained on investigation. The stairs are very steep between the upstairs living area and the bedroom downstairs. Dishes were left draining on the side of the sink.

Nice apartment in good location - Gion - our stay was very nice. We really liked the fact, that it was very close to main attractions of Kyoto. The host, Kazunori, was very helpful and gave us really good tips. Moreover, he let us check-in earlier what was great!

## A Hidden Gem in the Heart of it All This apartment was the perfect home base for our family trip! **The location was absolutely ideal**, within easy walking distance of all the major sights and attractions. Despite being so central, **the street itself was surprisingly quiet**, allowing for peaceful nights after busy days exploring. From the moment we arrived, **the host made us feel incredibly welcome**. full of helpful tips and recommendations, which really added to our experience. We especially loved **the spaciousness of the accommodation**. It was so nice to have enough room for everyone to spread out and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This apartment truly offered the perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We can't wait to return!

If you had mobility issues, step stairs inside between levels , but not an issue for us .

Hayata-san picked us up from our ryokan to make it easier for us to find his place, and spent several hours giving us tips on sights to see and places to eat at. He also helped us research transportation options to Itami Airport with careful considerations of cost and convenience, etc., and booked a taxi on our behalf. During our stay there, he continued to text us suggestions as he heard about special events. Thank you Hayata-san for your great hospitality!

The Escape Route light downstairs may bother some people against their sleep (as it did my mom) but we understand it is required by Japanese law.

The location was excellent! It was just behind the Minamiza Theater (which is just across the Keihan Railway Gion-shijo Station). Our host Hayata-san was great!! He was very attentive from booking, to arrival, to our stay, up to our departure. His gave accurate instructions on the best way to get to the place and was waiting for us to arrive and guide us straight to the apartment. He even gave us an hour’s talk about the attractions in Kyoto and how to get to them and possible restaurants to visit. He let us contact him to make reservations to food establishments through the next days . His place was extra spacious for 4 people and can accommodate 6 people easily. Two separate toilets restrooms (one with the shower and bath) added to the comfort of all. The living room was welcoming, and the kitchen had complete supplies. The facilities were as described. The apartment was surrounded by a lot of restaurants and the immediate neighborhood was an excellent mix of history and modernity.

It would be nice to have clothes lines in the back space behind the sliding doors of the ground floor to hang laundry out. Would have been especially helpful during our summer stay there to augment clothes drying in the sun after spin drying. Otherwise, the apartment was really great, compared to our other Japan adventures in the past.
