Guest House Chara

This place is kind of a bed&breakfast type of accommodation. The owners of the house let some rooms to visitors. Our room (on the 2nd floor) was probably the largest, and it was spacious and convenient. However, the facilities are minimal. There was a small toilet on the 2nd floor, and a single shower room on the ground floor. The breakfast was large and quite satisfactory. We appreciated the pick-up from the station and the drive back to the station provided by the kind owner.

The payment had to be made in cash only - unexpectedly, no cards were accepted. The cost of the room (close to 290,000 yen per night) did not match the quality of the accommodation. I believe the high cost was due to the festival that took place during our stay when the demand for accommodation was very high in Horosaki. Overall, the place does not offer sufficient privacy and comfort. The location is unremarkable and it is relatively far from the historical and cultural center of Hirosaki. We did not have a choice but to spend one night in this guest house, however, I don't know a reason to stay there again.
