"Exceptional"

Uji Tea Inn was wonderful! The rooms were comfortable and facilities very clean. We took advantage of the shared kitchen for breakfast each morning, and the free coffee and tea really kept us going. The staff were all so lovely. There was parking out front.

This is only due to our poor planning -- we chose to stay in Uji to do more small town activities for the Kyoto portion of our trip, but found that 4 nights in Uji didn't give us enough time to see both Kyoto and Uji, and so we found ourselves commuting to Kyoto nearly everyday which was a bit of a pain in the end. Uji is much closer to Nara, though!

"Un coup de cœur !"

Situé à quelques minutes de la gare et du musée Nintendo, cet hébergement traditionnel nous a beaucoup arrangés ! Le quartier est très calme, tout en étant proche des commerces. L'hébergement possède tout le nécessaire pour bien apprécier le séjour à Uji. L'hôtesse d'accueil était très accueillante et chaleureuse.

"Very authentic traditional building"

Spotless clean. Traditional. Friendly staff. Location. Full basic amenities.

Not a huge problem: but it's fair to warn travelers that there seems to be no soundproofing so sounds from outside the can easily be heard. But that's because then building is traditional.
