WoodSpring Suites West Des Moines

The location and and proximity to the airport was good- it was an easy drive to make by 5:30 am flight. Since I was only staying there for about 6 hours, the price was fair.

When I arrived, I was locked out of the property and had to call the front desk to let me in. She said she would be down in a few minutes and had me wait about 10 minutes to be let in. The receptionist was not in uniform and was with her child. The child informed me they were both living on the property. The hotel room did not have coffee makers in the room. I had to leave for the airport (it was marketed as an airport hotel) before the breakfast coffee was served which made for a tough morning. There were multiple cop cars at the property at 4 am as I was leaving for the airport which made me concerned the area was unsafe and the hotel was unsafe.

Lots of smokers around the building, no shampoo, key card did not work 2 times, TV would not shut off

The staff were very nice and helpful.

Not enough towels and washclothes.

Location

Excellent location with ample parking. Clean and quiet. There is a grocery store nearby. Excellent value overall

A coffee machine would have been nice....
