"Book it!!"

10.0

We loved our stay at Under Canvas!! The views of the water were incredible, the staff was so helpfully and friendly, and the dogs loved it too! The food was outstanding. And we even saw the northern lights. Highly recommend. Acadia in October is to die for! It was a dream trip.

"Another one"

10.0

This was our 6th(!) Under Canvas stay and we were not disappointed. It is a bit of a drive from Acadia NP (40-ish min) but 10 minutes away from a small town with good eats. And the water is only footsteps away. Lovely property. My only complaint is the fireplace inside the tents are a little smaller than the ones we have used at other UC properties. So out fire didn't last as long and night time temps were pretty chilly for this southern girl. We had plenty of blankets to stay cozy but nighttime trips to the bathroom were pretty chilly! We absolutely love the concept of being outdoors without having to "rough" it. And the food on site was excellent. Fun nighttime activities included live music, pumpkin painting, nature walks, and of course the endless smores.

"A Delightful Glamping Adventure"

10.0

Staying at Under Canvas Acadia was so great. The location is right on the water and secluded. We were able to experience nature and camping with amenities. They have set up a few little hikes from the tents to the main tent which was a fun way to explore the grounds. Everyone is so nice and accommodating and staying at Under Canvas is so worth the cost.

"A beautiful and peaceful place!"

10.0

We spent two nights in October (the last week they were open for the year) and it was very memorable! The location is beautiful, off the beaten path on a lake. Very quiet, great common areas with fire pits and smores galore! Accommodations were nice, bed is on a frame and there is a flush toilet, and the tent is spacious. Staff is on hand to help with anything, and we highly recommend the restaurant! The food and drink was outstanding!! I will also share a things to plan for: if you are hiking Acadia, plan for the commute, it took us over 30 minutes each day. We spent 3 nights in Bar Harbor to be closer to the park and then 2 nights here to enjoy the quiet! Another thing to be aware of, the heaters in the tents are much smaller than other UnderCanvas locations and they have a hard time warming the tent on very cold nights. We had to add wood every hour and it was still very cold in the tent. Plenty of blankets are offered but if visiting in October, plan accordingly. Overall, we had a great stay, thank you UnderCanvas Acadia staff!

"Good"

6.0

This is our 3rd stay at an Under Canvas property and we are big fans! In fact, we already booked UC Yellowestone for May 2025 which is what makes this review a little dissappointing. The biggest takeaway, we stayed at UC Arcadia a week before the camp was closing for the season and the staff reflected that in their attitudes. While everyone was courteous and nice, it was apparent (through them even talking about how short-staffed they were and how some of them would not be returning after this season) that they had already moved on mentally. For example, when we stayed at UC Zion (best experience so far of all 3 properties) the staff advises on hiking routes for the kids, places to eat in town, how to be prepared for the day. At Aracadia, I inquired about a couple of hiking routes that I was considering and was tolde to Google how to get there. Also, you have to text them if you want your tent cleaned (that wasn't the case at Zion or Lake Powell) so our tent was dirty when we got back from a long day of hiking (mind you it's $579/night). We will stay in UC again but I think the main resolve is not to stay when they are a week from shuttting down as the staff is checked out mentally. BTW: Be ware of the kids tent option when it rains, the kids tent got completely soaked and we had to roll cots into the suite to make room for them.

"A fun adventure for one night, but really expensiv"

8.0

Staying at Under Canvas was an adventure! It was very expensive, but we wanted the “camping” experience while having some comforts (bed, toilet, wood burning stove). The setting was awesome! They offer a restaurant/bar on site. They also provide numerous fire pits and free s’mores onsite. The only thing I didn’t like was there was no hot water or electricity. I was thinking there would be a guest restroom/shower area with electricity on site, but there wasn’t. It was a great experience overall, but one night in the basic “tent” was over $700.

No hot water.

"Memorable and stunning stay!"

8.0

Gorgeous setting, lovely & unique accommodations, and friendly service. Relaxing firepit areas to eat and hang out. Several hiking trails and beach close by. Food could be improved and more bathroom amenities (lotion, cotton balls, etc). Otherwise, a memorable and wonderful stay!
