The Lofts at Downtown Salem

Lovely, lovely place. I wanted something that wasn’t a chain, and am glad I chose The Lofts. Conveniently located to restaurants & shops, all in walking distance. The best part was it smelled wonderful! Like walking into a nice spa. My only complaints were the lighting in the first-floor hall (a little too dim) & there wasn’t an elevator to the 2nd floor. 18 steps is a lot when lugging a heavy suitcase. Next time, I’ll ask for a first-floor room. 🙂

My wife and I just stayed there and we had a great experience. The architecture was so unique and the rooms offer everything you need. It was convenient to local restaurants and shopping. We will stay there again.

I did not find it right away. There is a sign that says "Eat Drink Stay" on the building on the street. On the sign there's a small circle that says "Motor Lofts". It's half way down the side of that building.

This is a very nice place, walking distance to things in town. Check in was easy they just text me my entry code for the front door and the room door. The room was very nice and clean. Plenty of space for two people, also included a washer and dryer, full kitchen, and a living room area. My only complaints are, the bedroom had blinds that even when closed at night still left a lot of the Wells Fargo bank light through, and I like to sleep in dark, that light in the bank was very bright and right near the window. A long with the blinds, it be nice if there was some blackout curtains. This does not take away from the room though, just my personal preference when sleeping. The other thing was no tv in the bed room, and the tv in the living room has a card to use Hulu live television, but someone before us must have logged in so the lofts login was not in there. It was too much work to try and figure out one if my own logins so I airplayed some television for my phone. Overall very nice place, it was a nice stop over on our very long travel trip, and we will definitely stay again in the future for that long trip!

This place is truly lovely. The details matter and they've got it right.

Excellent stay for my wife and I attending a conference at Roanoke college. Excellent location clean and well appointed rooms . Walking distance to everything!
