The Mumbles Carlton Hotel

Room was spacious and very clean. Heating fantastic. Big shower with great water pressure. Very easy check in, and location perfect walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Off street parking very convenient. Coffee and tea in the room very welcoming.

The price, cost me £100 more than the Marriot central Cardiff, but unlike the marriot it was an old rather tatty hotel which has 'resident' guests living there. They turned the heating off during the night, we stayed in early January (temp outside was -2) it was a damp and cold experience staying there in the winter . Bedside table was not level and using it to put cups of coffee and phones, they just would fall off. (We advised the staff that coffee was spilt on the floor during our stay). Actually only saw staff members during check in and check out, all help and questions about the hotel such as where is the iron and board kept were resolved by the resident guests. This hotel definitely needs renovation, maybe should have closed during winter for the public as it was clearly being understaffed and resident guests (people who lived there) had to help.

It was cold. The heating went off in the evening, it was a large room and bathroom and was New Years Eve- middle of winter, heavily exposed to the elements and the divert was see through thin!

There was no breakfast for that price! €138! For one night staying!!! Rome was cold but there was a little heater loud.

The shower was good.

Our radiator was hardly ever working so we were cold Awkward plug socket locations, not available by bedside

Location was great. Was given a larger room at no extra cost. Lovely sea view.

Chairs could do with a cushion as quite uncomfortable after a while. Heating was on a timer and went cold at times. No biscuits left as in most hotels.

We asked for some extra pillows which were provided by v helpful staff . The tv was linked up to a large selection of channels which was great 👍🏻. Shower and toilet area v clean and fresh. Fantastic view of sea front from our 3rd floor window. Bedding was v clean and freshly laundered. Incl towels.

The room got a bit chilly of an evening with the heating going off but staff assisted by turning up thermostat, I noticed a slight difference but could have been warmer. Not much privacy in bathroom, toilet right next to large frosted window without blinds. Tv was a bit on the small side and reception kept dropping out in the evenings. Bed mattress was too soft for me and needed replacing. Room could do with a few more niceties and softer furnishings in the room (not a garden table and chairs).

How clean and bright our room was, and our beds were very comfortable.There was plenty of tea and coffee provided every day.The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would be happy to stay at the Carlton again !!! 😁

That it wasn't possible to get a cooked breakfast or a continental one.

Friendly staff and were happy to help. Great room looking the sea front, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Great facilities.
