The Mumbles Carlton Hotel

The location was great, just a short walk to Trams for breakfast and a selection of nearby restaurants. Half way between the town and pier. The common areas looked a little worn out but the room was very well presented (room 6, the large double). The staff were lovely, there is overnight parking more or less opposite on the street (8pm to 8am - if you've parked in the right place you then have 2 hours, so until 10am, but for a return visit that would be a bit of a limitation (or bit of a long walk from the car parks if there were no spaces on the road). I saw quite a few buses into Swansea - so easy for a visit if you are staying for a few days. I popped into the bar briefly in the evening - otherwise there is a pub next door. Very little traffic noise, even through we were at the front of the hotel (I heard a little noise from the glass collection next door, but not particularly late. The staff were lovely.

Noting we arrived on a really cold night (zero degrees and heavy snow a bit further West) the room was quite cold overnight - fine under the duvet but cold in the room (so not great for a small child with us in a cot), the hotel did put in an extra fan heater for us to also use but the bathroom was particularly chilly (just a towel heater). The second night wasn't so cold out and far more comfortable in the room overnight. Naturally not a problem if you come visiting in the normal warm seasons.
