Lakshmi Family Villa

The behaviour of the land lady was excellent. Food was also good. But A/C is needed for the room comfort, only fan is not sufficient enough during extreme humidity. One window is always closed in my room.

This place had everything you needed for a short stay in Negombo. It was close to all the bars/restaurants and beaches. The room was clean and had everything you needed. There was little/no hot water but you don't need it when you are here as it is so hot a cool shower is what you need. I didn't ask the hosts to fix. The highlight of our stay was the mother of the family. She was so sweet to us and she made us breakfast every morning of delicious food. Do not stay in this home stay and miss the breakfast!! For this alone I would have liked to give a 10\10 rating.

The host volunteered to pick us up from the airport which we agreed to prior to arrival. He charged a lot more than what we could have got of we used the pick me app. But he was there to meet us off a long flight so can't complain too much. This is also a family run business so we are happy to support. He was very insistent on us renting a tuk tuk for our stay in Sri Lanka. We politely declined but he was still trying to convince us. Anyway, long story short with the price per night you should not be too picky.

The hosts were kind and helpful. The room was really gorgeous; brand spanking new and totally clean & comfortable.

I didn't like the hosts' son throwing a basketball at my face within a minute of my arrival. Cute kid but someone should reign him in a bit. There was a wifi set-up in my room (across the street where the main house wifi doesn't reach) but it couldn't access the net while I was there (just one night; I'm sure the hosts would have fixed it if I were there longer).

Not clean

The people. I arrived as a stranger and left feeling very much like part of the family. Their hospitality is incredible and they go to no end of trouble to feed you, ensure you have the very best time in Negombo and that you are happy. I have no hesitation in recommending them in any but the highest of terms. This family is exceptional!
