Location is amazing. Very nice and secure building. Cute little balcony. Close to shops and bus stop right outside. Tesco is quite literally across the road to stock up on food for your stay. Bathrooms nice and clean, same with bedding.

Honestly just teeny tiny things, the splash back in the kitchen could do with a decent scrub down or paint refresh (this would have been previous guests cooking or frying food and not cleaning up after themselves) tv in box room signal was terrible but wasn’t a big deal as we watched the living room one. Info on here and info left in apartment was different (check out times/ what to do with dirty towels etc)

Location was impeccable - 5 minutes walk to The Shambles, 10 mins to York Minster, 2 mins to several breakfast joints, right across the road from SPARKS York, and literally right above Merchantplace bus-stop where many buses stop at. The beds are also very comfortable with many pillows. Kitchen amenities are useful - a big refrigerator, freezer with a pack of ice which is great for the summer heat, kettle, coffee machine with capsules, tea bags and all necessary utensils, and a dining table with comfortable chairs. We also love lounging at the sofa in the living room. The balcony was a key highlight because it's the only place where you get fresh air in the summer heat, the rest of the apartment was really stuffy.

Guests should note that there is no air conditioning in the apartment and that all windows can only be opened an inch wide due to security. This means the whole apartment was warm and extremely stuffy in summer heat, even at night (temperate was 14 to 26 degrees when we were there). We drew all the curtains to reduce greenhouse effect which did help a bit. With the current heatwave, perhaps the host can consider allowing the windows to open more widely than the current one inch. We were unfortunately let down by the water heater during our stay. Despite multiple attempts to communicate with the host who did send technicans on site, the issue was unresolved. A warm shower is a basic need, as cold showers are uncomfortable even in summer. We had to press the "Boost" button and wait at least 45 minutes before there was enough hot water for a single shower. One of the reasons we chose this apartment was the bathtub, which my daughter was especially excited about. Sadly, there was never enough hot water to even fill half the tub, no matter how long we waited. As hot water was limited, I let my daughter shower at night and planned to shower in the morning. However, when I specially woke early to press the Boost button and wait the usual 45 minutes, the Booster button didn’t work at all. I was later informed that the Boost function was on a timer that couldn’t be overridden—even if the timer was switched off. Not being able to take a shower as and when one desires significantly impacted our overall experience and made an otherwise promising stay quite disappointing.

Contemporary, airy, spacious, comfortable, thought of all equipment required in kitchen & all other rooms. Excellent location a short walk to town centre. Lovely view. Spark York opposite with street good market as well as Tesco Express.

Perfect location, spacious, cute and they provided coffee and a fan which was appreciated. The bed didn’t feel comfortable when we sat down on it but we actually slept great!

I know it’s common in the UK to have timed hot water but it’s really frustrating to experience that as a guest. We arrived at 11:30pm and desperately wanted hot showers after such a long travel day and had to wait an hour for it to heat up. They did not provide a key to the rubbish closet in the car park to access the bin.
