El Picnic Atitlan

The hotel was so unique - when else are you going to glamp with such a beautiful view? The breakfast every morning was great and the dinner was unreal. Our hosts (and their cutie dogs) were great and helped us with everything that we needed.

There are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel (shouldn't be a surprise given the views). There is a credit card fee for the food/drinks at the restaurant and no ATMs in town so have cash if you don't want to pay that. Hotel itself is not in the main part of town and a bit of a walk from shops, restaurants although you'll likely spend most of your time taking the ferries to other cities around the lake.

Where do I start?! It is exceptional, it exceeded my expectations. Jochen and Gabby put so much love into it, and you can feel it. This place is a haven. Tzununa is quieter which I prefer, but very easily accessible to other places at the lake. The food provided is phenomenal, and definitely do the dinner. Bed was so comfortable, views were amazing, I could go on and on. Just book it, I promise you won’t regret it.

The breakfast as phenomenal and the views were unbeatable. Even though I was sick for part of my stay, I didn't mind because I got to look at the views from my bed! As well, we felt well-taken care of and really enjoyed the quietness and peace of the location.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe El Picnic! From the wonderful hosts to the amazing rooms our stay was perfect.

This hotel is beyond incredible—truly a masterpiece of originality! From the stunning decor to the flawless execution of its unique concept, every detail is thoughtfully designed to create an unforgettable experience. The food? Absolutely top-tier. If you're hesitating—don't. Just book it! This was easily one of the best experiences I've ever had, and I can't recommend it enough.

The breakfast was awesome. Fresh fruit with honey to start followed by eggs various ways and delicious home cooked bread. Non egg alternative provided for my partner. Bottomless coffee! Evening meals also superb. Eating at the bar and chatting with other guests and host. Bar seats can become a bit uncomfortable after a while but generous cocktails overcome that.

Magnificent setting. Our glamming experience was amazing. Great views and food. Very accommodating with our vegan diet.
