"Added unnecessary stress to the trip"

The location was good

The room was not ready for almost 2 hours after the time we said we were going to arrive even though we were supposed to have a later check in than standard. We were not notified that the room was not ready, we only found out when we tried to get the key out of the lock box. We were not given compensation for the challenges even though the room was not available for almost 20% of the time we were supposed to be staying.

"Really comfortable for a few nights wouldn’t be ideal for a week + stay"

The location and the beds were comfy

How there was no washing machine or oven. And I feel the shower wasn’t cleaned before arrival. Still had old tapper in it and didn’t seem clean. Also no body wash.

Location was great

Hypodermic needle in draw in bedroom Couch was so dirty we did not sit in it Room was obviously not cleaned properly prior to our stay No towel or linen change in 7 days Paid $550 per night due to AFL gather round Overall it was an expensive rip off Do not book room 1005

Nothing. Swainson Apartments are entirely abhorrent and it is unfortunate that booking.com lists them.

Swainson Apartments cancelled my reservation two hours before check-in, leaving us without accommodation during the busiest tourism week of the year in Adelaide. Their stated reason was that there was a problem with the apartment. They offered alternative accommodation out in the suburbs (which was totally untenable for people without transport who had booked to stay in the CBD so as to be walking distance from everything) and then were deceitful, giving the reason for cancellation on booking.com as there having been a problem with my credit card, and the reason for cancellation on the refund receipt that I asked for as that I refused an "upgrade". Swainson Apartments were difficult and rude from the outset - despite my credit card details being correct on booking.com, I got repeated messages (which we initially thought were part of a scam) saying there was a problem with my credit card and to pay through a dodgy-seeming link. Despite booking.com advertising the listing as having free cancellation up to a week before check-in, Swainson sent offensive messages saying that payment was required within 2 hours or else the reservation would be cancelled because they "cannot afford to have no shows". I ended up calling them and giving my credit card details over the phone rather than use the dodgy link, my card was charged, but they never updated (despite my calling back to ask them to do that) the reservation on booking.com (which continued to show that payment was still required). I then needed to fill in an online form, and upload my ID. This is where I learned there is an extra charge for linen! When you submit that form you are supposed to be emailed check-in instructions. Despite filling in the form, it took several more phone calls from me for me to be sent the check-in instructions. I never got to check-in because Swainson cancelled the booking just before check-in, couldn't have cared less, and took six days to refund my money.
