Mango Tree Siargao

Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our stay here, booked the Villa with Private Pool. Looks just like it does in the photos. Secluded location, the Villa has plenty of space including a full kitchen (if you feel like cooking), and the Villa is clean, modern and well organised. Loved the pool, we used it every day! With the Villa been pretty self sufficient, it can be very tempting to stay there throughout your stay, but there is plenty to do on the island, and the friendly staff are more than willing to help you with bookings for tours or give you their recommendations. Speaking of staff, call out to Louise and Kaitha. From organising food and drinks to our Villa, arranging tours across the island, and just being available to chat. Call out to Kuya Tan Tan for driving us around the island, and thanks to all the other staff who made our stay extra special. Breakfast was delicious! Definitely keen to come back

Small WiFi outage, but I'm Nitpicking

I'd like to premise this review by saying I have never ever given a negative review before. But our stay here just did not live up to expectations from previous reviews. Maybe it has been taken over by someone else or new management but we were really disappointed. We constantly felt like they were looking for anyway to charge you more. We were coming from another accommodation and were spending the day doing a tour - we asked what was the earliest we could arrive (at 1pm - we thought we could maybe arrive at 2-230pm instead of 3pm) - we were told our villa was ready but if we wanted to come early that would be a $70AUD charge. They said we broke a mug - still don't know when or how - they charged us $10AUD for it! Breakfast - could only get a black coffee OR a juice (not both), if you wanted to use the Nespresso pods in the kitchen - charged for it, order a cappuccino - charged for it. The villa is a long way from anything, so they have food available to purchase in the villa - our cupboard was completely empty on our arrival, we were told it would be replenished, but it never was over the three nights we stayed. Bathroom doors didn't close properly. The two safes in our bedrooms didn't work properly. A duvet wasn't put on one of our beds - took nearly 24 hours to get one. No concierge, which is completely fine. But all communication is done via WhatsApp which was very limited. You can't check in before 3pm but you are told no one will be available at reception from 4pm. So by the time you've checked in and been shown around everyone is basically gone for the day. They will respond to you, but it can take hours. If you complain or query anything - they respond in a very passive aggressive way and turn it around to make it sound like it's your fault. This should be advertised as more like an AirBnB - not a serviced luxury villa. Our previous Siargao accommodation just outshone this place by ten fold!
