On the positive side, every employee we met was exceptionally friendly, professional, and helpful. The property is lovely and offers beautiful mountain views. On the other hand, the owner should probably consider the running thread of feedback around cleanliness and noise that comes up repeatedly in reviews. When we arrived, I looked for a water glass and found a wine glass with several lipstick or lipgloss stains around the rim. It had clearly been used, but not cleaned, before being replaced in the room. When we went down to breakfast the next morning, the dining room floor had crumbs and even some grapes on it and it clearly not been swept from dinner service the night before our room featured a 2 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, which let in lots of light and noise. To top it all off, our door featured a price list that was clearly intended to warn people off of stealing. My hope is that the owner will consider hiring someone to do quality assurance/quality control and will invest in some simple fixes around sound proofing. Finally, I would point out that people going on a trip expect to be pleased and secretly hope to be delighted. No one sets out to have a poor experience or write a poor review.

Family upstairs was load walking

Honestly decent, just wasn’t what i was expected the pictures definitely give off a different vibe. Hot tub none existent doesn’t really give resort vibes but decent

Room was not clean, very dusty, cobwebs everywhere, pink soap scum in shower and jacuzzi tub and only some of the jets worked. bed was very hard, pillows were flat. This was advertised as a luxury room. The only luxury was the toilet that the lid automatically raised when you walked in the bathroom. Light flash and won't stay on. The entire place smells like fabuloso, the room was so bad we had to open the windows. I had 4 and only 2 opened and only 1 had a screen. Then to top it all off the air does not work. We've had in on 65 since we walked in the room and it never got below 72 until late in the night when we reopened the windows and turned the fan on.

It was very clean and comfortable.

Our room was technically in the basement. The restaurant was directly over us and there was so much noise we couldn't rest till they closed and was cleaned up. We also had an adjoining room and could hear everything the other couple was saying and doing.

Staff was very welcoming of pets, place was very clean, easy checkin/checkout. There pool and hot tub are open 24 hrs!

When we arrived at the premium cabin we paid for, we were shocked by how dirty it was. Used towels were left in the bathroom, crumbs were all over the counters, garbage had been left behind, and there were gnats throughout the cabin. It was clear the place hadn’t been cleaned at all, which is completely unacceptable. We were moved to another cabin, but it was not the one we booked or paid for. Instead of a premium mountain-view cabin, we were given a place with two queen beds and a view of the parking lot and pool. This cabin was also in poor condition — balls of hair on the floor, dead bugs, stains and marks on the walls, and a spiral staircase missing bolts, making it unsafe. To make matters worse, they refused to provide a refund or even a voucher as remediation given the circumstances. We were extremely disappointed. When we tried to contact the owner directly, the receptionist told us he was “unreachable.” At that point, we left immediately and went somewhere we knew would be easy to work with and reliable — the Embassy Suites in downtown Asheville. They couldn’t have been more accommodating; they gave us free valet parking and even upgraded us to a mountain-view room at no extra charge after hearing about our experience at Skylaranna. The difference in professionalism was night and day. This property used to be a wonderful place — our first trip here two years ago was great, which is why we decided to return. Sadly, the lack of cleanliness, safety, and accountability means we will never be back, and we will not recommend this place to anyone.

My fiancé and I were extremely disappointed with how this was handled. They don’t offer refunds or vouchers, which is unacceptable given the situation. The second cabin was also dirty — hairballs on the floor, dead bugs, boogers on the walls, and a spiral staircase missing bolts, making it unsafe. We ended up leaving early. We tried to contact the owner several times with no response. It’s truly upsetting — this place used to be beautiful. We came here for our first trip together two years ago, but after this experience, we’ll never be back. Very disappointed and would not recommend this property to anyone.
