The Edgartown Inn, The Edgartown Collection

This is not a typical review detailing the room, location, etc although I know that The Edgartown Inn is amazing for all these qualities. This is about the humanity, genuine caring, and empathy behind the experience. My husband and I were scheduled to stay there in five days to attend a dear friend's wedding. Despite my husband's ongoing battle with cancer, we were sure we could go. However, he was admitted to the hospital two days ago with severe symptoms from chemo and immunotherapy and the doctors said it would be impossible for us to travel. I had booked the Inn through Bookings.com who told me that I was past the free cancellation period and would have to pay. I called the Inn directly and spoke with Allison who had helped me several months ago with a stay extension. Allison was so amazing and went well above and beyond, reaching out herself to the company on a hectic Memorial Day weekend, to help make my life easier and she managed to get the room cancelled on my behalf. A wonderful hotel experience is more than about a room, it can be about a person. Because of Alison, I will always recommend the Edgartown Inn for a stay on this most magical island.

Location was excellent

I had a wonderful stay (and best night’s sleep ever!) in this beautiful inn. The whole accommodation, from my stunning King Deluxe Balcony Room to the guest lounge and courtyard, was perfect, and all the staff friendly and helpful. A short walk from the bus station, it was a great base from which to enjoy the sights of Edgartown.

We had booked here as been wanted to visit the area for years and linked it in with a trip to Boston. Nice drive to catch the ferry and a smooth crossing. Easy drive to the hotel and we arrived early which wasn’t a problem given the time of year but would guess it would have been in high season. Checked in and shown to our room and treated to warm chocolate cookies what a start. Asked for recommendations for places to eat and visit, shown on a detailed map where to eat and even places to visit further afield which we did as beautiful scenery around the island. Rooms are very clean and superbly decorated and presented, it made a change to have a proper shower rather than where we had stayed previous along with some lovely bath products. Simple breakfast but sufficient and some nice touches with different options to eat and teas to drink. Overall a great place to stay and would recommend. One gripe was the cost of parking given the price being paid for the room, and having just seen on trip advisor it’s being promoted as FREE PARKING which is not the case it’s $50 a night additional fees.

The property was in an excellent location and was extremely welcoming. We arrived early but not a problem at all, we were treated to some warm chocolate cookies just out the oven. A very restful place to stay and everything in Edgartown is within walking distance. Good tips on where to visit and dine.

Only issue I had was the cost of parking, although I imagine in high season parking is a nightmare but not at the end of the season in October.

Great location, service and property! I would certainly recommend that the hotel offer breakfasts with hot options and larger portions of yogurt and fruit.

Beautiful room and great porch with table and comfortable chais

Property was fresh, new, spotless and hip. Location was excellent. Catherine was on top of things and helpful.

Something out for guests around happy hour time would have been wonderful (in addition to the delicious chocolate chip cookies).
