Butterfly Apartments

I can't really complain about anything. I received princess treatment. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Peter helped me with my transport during my time there. I had a pleasant and peaceful time and some fresh mangos from the garden.

We quickly found the apartment in the dark. The gate was opened by a security guard, who also opened the room for us and told us about some of the possibilities. The room is very large, with all the amenities and a semi-enclosed terrace with chairs. And everything would have been very good, if not for the power outage, without which we simply could not use most of the facilities. But I think this is not a permanent problem.

It is very hot to sleep, despite the fan running. With such a power supply, it is not possible to use the electrical appliances in the room (although this does not depend on the owners).

Robbed blind Although there was "24 hour security" from a company called ArmSecure at the (small) gated premises, we were robbed blind. WHILE SLEEPING someone entered the closed appartment BEDROOM and stole everything we had. Even our phones from our nightstand. The guard had an unfortunate 34 minute "gap" in his log. We wonder why .... The appartment is smaller than you would think but clean. Would NOT revisit for the world.

Excellent stay :) The hosts were amazing, very welcoming and helpful. They offered help with taxi, bookings and activities. Definitely had a great time thanks to them. Beautiful place. Good location, in walking distance to restaurants and downtown, and relatively close to attractions by taxi. Very secure. The room was big, clean and in good condition. Best choice considering price/quality.

Peter was great. He took real good care of me. He helped me to get to all the places I wanted to/ needed to go! He was always on time (in fact, often early) He was very knowledgeable of the area and helped to make me feel welcomed, safe and at home! The accommodation itself was very basic, but very clean. It had electricity the whole time, so could charge my phone and use the fans to keep cool. They also have WiFi access! I am a solo traveller and felt very safe here. The property its self is in a very quiet area, just outside of the town centre… we walked in, it took about 15/20 mins, it’s about 20min/half hour drive to lots of the excursions & I didn’t find a tour company that would pick me up from here, but Peter made sure I got to where I needed to be. It’s very good value for money!

There were no other guests during my stay- but that obviously wasn’t the apartments fault! It was just a shame, I didn’t get to meet other people!

You get your own little flat on a guarded property, clean structure, external shared gas stove available in case of power cuts, tips for activities with contact info provided in the flats (e.g. Chobe national park in Botswana, really worth it!).

Cold water and very low water pressure due to the government power cuts, no check and feedback from staff after requesting repairs to solve the water problems (the first day it was working even during power cut), no comfortable table to sit, internet not available in the beginning and slow at times.

Service!! The unit inside is amazing! Beds comfortable! Unit very clean and has all basic necessities. Peter the host is everything! He went above and beyond. The dark security guard was so helpful. Overall the staff make this place better!! The unit also had solar as the loadshedding is ridiculous! Nice separate small room with gas stove should you wish to cook. Loved it!

The outside of the venue, it's dry and nothing nice! It could be the season, but it can get some work done so it looks as amazing as the inside of the unit.

The accomodation is such a nice place. We got upgraded and had our own living room and kitchen. There was electricity and wifi out of solar panels. For cooking there was a gas stove outside. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were big. And we loved using the nice pool outside to cool down. Peter was very welcoming and we had a nice chat, his paintings are really good, something special!
