The shower was nice and bed was comfy

Going down the stairs to the back door it had a funny musty smell ,windows in the room didn't open very well ,had no sound on the tv in the room .Also the parking was awful we had to park a long way away from the hotel

"Good"

5.0

Location was excellent for access to local pubs and the main south bay strip. Staff were very friendly. Place had a good atmosphere in the bar with good music.

The hotel offers pet owners rooms and charges them for this privilege which is fine however I don't have pets and was stuck in the room in-between two people who did have dogs both of which made noise affecting my sleep. Windows weren't double glazed so noise from passing traffic and 'pop and bang' boy racers and bikes was an issue but went quiet around 11:30. No parking, ended up in the ncp in the town centre, no big deal as only 10 pounds for 24 hours. Wouldn't select the breakfast option as just down the road there are plenty of places with better quality for same price or cheaper.

"Clean, good location. Strange timings."

8.0

I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they are new to this. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on food. We stayed in room 4 (family room) and it was pleasant. There is a fairly large windowsill outside the bathroom which fits 2 seagulls and we knew about that at 5am in the morning with dawn chorus wake up. Overall, it was comfortable and clean. Right on the front, which was nice. Woukd have been nice to have a car park, we managed to get into quay street for £12 / day. Small car park, we were lucky to get a space.

"Was denied access because our train was late! You couldn’t make it up!"

Nothing!

The very idea that a fob entry controlled hostel can be called a hotel is perplexing, no reception , no customer care, only narrow rules and a bad attitude!
