Ideal spot for all amenities, staff were fab really friendly, place was immaculate, had the breakfast which was very nice, atmosphere chilled and played some good music too.

Clean, tidy well thought out and staff very informative regarding keys, late night accessibility,.

Very large room fantastic little hotel

Initially, let’s start with the positive. A great location very close to the front and near the marina. I had the top floor room overlooking the harbour. Great! This hotel has great potential but has some work to do.

Firstly, check in is a strict 15:00 to 16:00 window. If like me and used to stopping in hotels check in after 3pm is usual but this is strange. As it was for work I intended to arrive 3-6pm but was told no one is around after 4pm. It does say this on Booking.com but be aware this is a strict rule not a suggestion. Unfortunately despite having two windows only one opened and by 3”. Despite asking the host they had no fan and were unable to open the second window. Avoid in summer months if the weather outside is above 16c. The room was a good size but the beds were very low. Anyone with mobility impairment will struggle here. Breakfast is a strict 10:30 to 11:30 time. Don’t ask for coffee and orange juice as you have to pay for the additional drink! This is despite breakfast taking ages to arrive. Also this hotel doesn’t offer a cleaning service if staying for more than one night. I stayed for two and didn’t get any fresh towels or shampoo/gels. They say it’s on booking.com but was unable to locate this “rule” after making the point on check out. Finally - it took me a number of attempts to get a receipt/invoice for my stay. Hotels need to be aware that booking.com do not provide these. They are always obtained from the hotel. So I had to request through the site only for them to request from the hotel.

Check in window of 1 hour is ridiculous. We were slightly later and felt as though we were told off like children. Unhelpful, un attentive staff made us feel not welcome. Room was nice but won’t be staying again.

Only 2 cups/ tea facilities provided even though was booked for 3, my daughter had to wait till one of us had finished if she wanted a hot drink, breakfast is included, but it is not in the welcome pack you get in the room which is confusing, you do not get a choice, it needs to be clearly stated

The room was not clean, and the TV remote didn't work on both tv's Was advertised as breakfast included but check out was at 10am but breakfast wasn't available until 10.30 so not really any point waiting around.

The view was amazing .. the room was nice and spacious.. could do with a full length mirror We dont like the fact we had breakfast included in our stay but had to be out of our room by 10 .. breakfast started from 10.30 so we either hung around or didnt go ..

The Ivy was clean and well presented but was not a hotel more a restaurant with rooms .

This property is in an excellent location opposite the harbour with amazing views. The room was a good size and warm considering the freezing weather. It seemed to be recently decorated with a modern bathroom. Lots of wardrobe space and a king size bed. However, there were some issues in the room including a very scaly kettle, only 2 teabags, 1 shower gel, no glasses, no bathmat, flat batteries in tv remote, and only half a loo roll. As there were no staff on site for most of the time these problems were difficult to resolve but the young staff, when they were there, were polite and helpful. The check in time of 1 hour is much too narrow and we were asked for full credit card details on arrival despite having paid in advance. These weren't destroyed as far as we know.
