Ahana Resort El Nido

Stunning pool and scenery! We were two of four people in the hotel and the staff were very attentive! If you want an escape from everything it’s a good a place! We had the bungalow which was a nice bit of extra space!

The shower and bath were faulty. Construction work on the bar which we were not informed of. Not easy to get out of the hotel so something to consider if you want to wander out for dinner etc.

1) the location is not accessible via tricycle (which js the most common transportation mode here) we need to wait for the resort’s 4x4 to fetch us and sent us down the hill. And they only operate from 7am-9.30pm after that u have to either pay extra(1.2k pesos) or walk down or up yourself( fyi the road is super steep,dusty due to construction and no lights).oh ya they only have one car so if the driver is out you might have to wait for a long time 2) no hot water 3) pool is so dirty 4)limited breakfast options 5) not so accommodating receptionist 6)there is an entire list of rules that will be given to you once u check in(not stated in website)and ridiculous

1. As I arrived the sheets where dirty and had to be replaced, also the pillow cases where yellow and stained. 2. The bathroom tub was clogged and this is day 3 that we haven’t been able to use it 3. The coffee mug in the room has not been cleaned in 3 days and it only got taken away (but wasn’t replaced with a clean one) today because I put everything in a tray and asked to be cleaned. Plus, the coffee has not been restocked since day one (still don’t have coffee or a second mug) 4. The garbage was not emptied in 3 days, and was done today cause I called the cleaning person that was outside my room and put the bins at the door. We want to help not putting paper in the toilet but I will not stand three days of dirty toilet paper in my bathroom. 5. The AC remote control has dead batteries and Ive been juggling with the tv batteries to get by. 6. There is NO HOT WATER in the bathroom (we met the former guest that was before us in that villa and he said that he was moved to another villa because there was no hot water, but we never got informed or asked if we would be fine with that) 7. The bathroom has not been cleaned properly in 3 days 8. We have found frogs in the bathroom twice on our four day stay 9. Our things have not moved an inch on the table so I can only assume that cleaning has not been done properly in the entire room for 3 days now I still haven’t been contacted by the manager despite the requests I’ve made Very disappointing

Worst place I have ever stayed at !! Terrible in every way . They never answer the phone when you try to ring to get picked up as it’s a long steep dusty hill . No hot water for 4 days then they had to move me to another villa . Air con is poor and it took two days to get a fan . No curtain at front door so anyone can see you in the bed . When I asked for drinking water it took 30 mins most times to get my bottles filled and one day they ran out of drinking water . Internet continues to drop out . I spoke to Marrianne the manger and she offered me one free meal in compensation. . If you think this is untrue then read other people’s reviews .

Very nice building and grounds. Room was nice and clean. Food was very good.

The check in process after hours! there is none. The location was difficult for even the local driver to find. The road is such bad shape the driver had to drop us off and we had to carry our bags up the dirt rocky road to the resort. The location demands an off road vehilce to get there and it is quite a distance to the town or beaches.

Beautiful view and nicely decorated hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast is amazing!

Difficult to get to but nice place if you don't want to move around too much

Beautiful hotel with an amazinf view during the day and subset, really picturesque. Staff were great, super helpful and friendly. Three downsides to comfort, 1) the AC didnt cool the room, 2) the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, 3) the hotel is located on a hill that transport wouldnt go up

Very difficult to find anything good to say about this place. Visually it looks nice from certain angles but that's it, and this doesn't even carry to the whole place.

I often shrug off some bad reviews thinking it can't be that bad, but genuinely this hotel is the worsts I have experienced and feels like a complete tourist trap. Location: It's badly located on top of a hill around 25 mins from El Nido town, the area is a building site with nothing else around. Taxis, TukTuks etc. won't go up the hill so you will likely have to walk up at some point. This is essentially a 10-15min Uphill walk on a rocky path. They state 5min somewhere which is hugely unrealistic, it's a 10-15 min uphill trek. Instead of running complimentary shuttles to El Nido Town, they capatilise on the fact you are stuck by charging you 10x the local taxi rate to use their 4x4, they also have only one which you will be competing for with other guests and I had to wait 3 hours to be picked up when using it. The round trip cost to El Nido Town is 30 USD (Should be 3 USD in a tuktuk) Given you are on a hill with nothing else around, you will likely be forced to use this service. Facilities: The hotel itself has a small pool, restaurant and 5 rooms. You may think on the images it looks nice, this is completely superficial and you quickly find out it is tired and impractical. The restaurant is open and has no aircon, the food is expensive and of poor quality compared to El Nido Town, you also aren't allowed to bring food or drink from outside and again given the poor location will be forced to eat there. No fridge, dirty rooms, ant infested and mouldy. Had to pay for drinking water also. This is the only place in the philippines I got food poisoning also. Staff were rude and unhelpful, rooms had no curtains so you can see the bed from outside, and the bathroom had a seethrough netting. Staff lingered outside rooms which added to this made us feel uncomfortable. They also charge everything to the room but wouldn't give me receipts so I had to take their word for the cost.. Also no wifi in rooms, and poor wifi in the main part.
