TABITABI STAY MOONLIGHT

It’s a very peaceful environment, the outdoor bath is a real treat. Very conveniently located with the metro 5 mins away.

The only issue I came up against is there was no cutlery, despite everything else being catered for like bowls, cups, plates. I’d suggest the management to consider making available reusable chop sticks or spoons, I had no choice but to eat with my hands.

Très joli maison . Les futons ne sont pas confortable et c est vraiment dommage . Le quartier est bien pas loin de gion mais il faut prendre le métro .

Le confort des futons . On dormait à même le sol et dans notre péri le japonais on a dormi que sur des futons et nettement plus agréable .

Only negative was there was no pans to use the stove and the host said the stove wasn't working. I was much looking forward to cooking while I was staying here.

The flat is nice because it represents a traditional homestay in Kyoto, the spaces are quite large compared with the standard in Japan, the majority of details are well thought and the place is well equipped with towels, bathroom products, a washing machine and a small kitchen.

Even though the place is very close to one subway line, the neighborhood is quite far from the city center (1h walking) and it’s a sort of “village” outside the heart of Kyoto. The space outside the flat is very, very small comparer to what it looks like in the pictures, and it’s full of mosquitoes so this makes impossible to enjoy the “garden” if you want to defend yourself from insects. We never used the “onsen” because it’s seems not very clean and also because it’s very small. Simple details are missing, such as a towel rack in the bathroom, a pouf, or a chair upstairs. There are no closets, shelves, or places to put things. We never seen the host: we just receive a code via email to check-in and a message the last day to recall us about the hour of the check-out, and I believe this attitude is entirely part of the phenomenon of the overtourism (treating all visitors the same) and detracts greatly from the experience. It simply feels like being on an assembly line: you leave, and immediately after you, another person arrives who will be treated the same way you were treated, just like hundreds before you. That said, in my opinion the place is overpriced.

Convenient to the train station, nice and quiet area, and relaxing onsen after walking all day.

The floor mattresses were tougher to sleep on than expected after hiking all day.
