Best hotel stay I’ve had in a VERY long time!! Super friendly staff, including the manager who made it a point to greet every single staff member and guest she saw. Beautiful clean property and the BEST free hotel breakfast I’ve EVER had!!! I actually hate staying at hotels, but this stay was so pleasant, it actually changed my attitude completely!!!
Hotel is immaculate and in a quiet part of town. Lot's of parking, shopping and restaurants within very short walk and easy on off to get in to town. Highly recommended.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean.
Such a nice clean hotel with a indoor pool and hot tub. Everything was so modern and clean. Love the Burger Shed restaurant next door that you can walk to after a long day at Adventureland. Excellent location being right across from the huge Des Moines Outlet mall and a 5 minute drive to Adventureland. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Altoona.
We never contacted the office about it but our room never got below 72 degrees when we had it set at 68 to try and get it to 70. Even with all the window blinds closed and us hardly being there it usually was around 75 for us at night. Had another couple with us and there room was probably worse than ours. On the positive the breakfast was good and the front desk saw us with water bottles and offered to fill all four of ours with ice water without us even asking.
They did not have the room i reserved. They wanted to call another motel to see if one was available. Took a different room
Friendly, professional, and genuine staff. Easy to access location--especially if coming into Des Moines from the east. The hotel was fairly full of families of softball and baseball teams. It could have been chaotic, but the lobby was run quite efficiently. The hotel also stayed clean despite being busy. We also didn't notice any noise in the hallways. Again, though, the front desk staff make or break an experience. Here, they hit it out of the ballpark. Nice job!

The staff at this Hyatt Place was so friendly! Everyone really went out of their way to make our large group feel at home. Great newer hotel with a nice patio area and a beautiful lake view. Close to lots of shopping and dining choices. Highly recommend this property.
Husband and I both liked/enjoyed this hotel. It was actually one of the nicer ones that we’ve stayed in! It was modern, clean, spacious and felt upscale. The room was very nice, beds comfortable, awesome large screen TV. The breakfast fare was fairly standard as compared to other hotels, but dining area was very nice with lots of space. There is a nice patio, but it was a bit cool and windy to be able to enjoy it. The hotel location was great - not too far from a major freeway, close to a nice outlet mall and Bass Pro Shop. Adventureland and the horse racing track were also not too far away, but it was still too early in the season for both of them to be open. There is not one thing that I can think of that is negative about this property. Husband and I plan to return to this area in the future and will definitely stay at this hotel again.
