People were nice, room was too big, but nice, good food, lovely sunny side garden, good e bike facilities & on the C2C route.

"Refurbished old hotel in lovely part of the country."

Alston is a great location for accessing the beautiful Pennines. Parking was easy. The room was huge ( room 5) with a very comfortable double bed. Food was good but quite expensive. If the weather had been better the garden looked nice.

Breakfast was not included so £135 for a double room was expensive . The breakfast was £15pp. The property has been refurbished but it was still a bit old style with old triton style shower and very creaky floorboards.

"Friendly pub/hotel close to our walk along the Pennine Way."

Friendly staff, convenient location

En-suite toilet seat loose. Breakfast charge of £15 a head too much if you only want cereal and/or toast. So we skipped it.
