"Very expensive for what it provided but some positives but slightly more negatives."

Lovely location and the staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was nice. The accommodation price was a bit eye watering for what it was.

The shower in the room was either extremely scalding or the other extreme of freezing cold and the control didn't find a happy medium. Staff were not interested when I pointed this out.

"Favourite place for hundreds of miles"

Staff create relaxing friendly atmosphere, go back every time am in area. Bar, food, coffee in garden are all a delight. Never think of any other place to stay in area

"Lovely hotel which is a great base for exploring the area"

Super large room and bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous with an amazing choice / menu on offer. The owner was really lovely and went the extra mile. Alston is a pretty little town in a stunning area.

Great host couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast excellent

Alston a ghost town . Only 2 of the pubs still left open and no choice to eat at night . Hotel lovely but overpriced
