Outside Inn

Lovely room but electric burners on stove not burn hot and pull out couch for bed was broken so my third party was not comfortable- should have told us before arrival. The rest was very comfortable

The oom was clean, bed very good with great pillows. Very comfortable with all the amenities you would need. Nice little area to sit out and have your own happy hour. In addition, the owner is lovely. Great location for restaurants and hiking.

Vintage and kitschy with lovely outdoor spaces. Excellent place if you’re bringing your pet.

The room was comfy and cute. The kitchen was adorable and perfect for hanging out. We loved the creek side patio, especially while drinking our morning coffee. The couple who run it are friendly and helpful. We walked into town several times and really loved it there.

Take an average motel and give every room some special TLC with a special. That's what I discovered at the Outside Inn. Clean and straightforward. While downtown is walkable, it's in a quiet neighborhood. You hear the neighbors iin the next room, though; thin walls. Easy to communicate with. If it was reasonably priced, such value would earn it 5 stars.

We had concert tix for a show in Grass Valley. We checked in at 3P, greeted by one of the new owners, Sham. He was quite friendly. We walked around Nevada City (a three minute walk to Downtown!) and walked along the Deer Creek Tribute Trail to the gorgeous suspension walking bridge called the Nisenan Tribute Bridge or “Anqkula Seo." My mind was blown by the winter gorgeousness. The room was cozy and charming. It's not bougie at all. It's sweet, comfortable, homey, and old-timey. The bedding was wonderful (and smelled good!), and the beds were just right—neither too firm nor too soft. The water pressure of the shower was delicious (and as a native Californian—sinfully strong). The water tastes divine. The heating in the room was fast and easy to adjust. Upon checkout I spoke with Sham and Gita, thanking them. Gita is as warm as Sham. They’re new(ish) owners. The only feedback I have is that when they can—they should do a thorough check out of the cafes and restaurants in town so they can give firsthand guidance to local places. I’ll stay again for sure.

Each room has a unique theme and are furnished with thoughtful and practical items that make them feel like home. Owners are dears! We have been coming here for years. We walk down the hill past lovely, elegant victorian homes to enjoy Nevada City.

The suite (the single track suite) we stayed in was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the artwork and decor. We’ve stayed at this inn several times and have always enjoyed being there. The location is good, close to downtown. We will surely be returning.
