Just finished our 3rd visit to Island Bay and was still just blown away. As soon as you enter thru the gate relaxing and slipping in to 'Keys mode' begins and by the time the luggage is unloaded all worries have disappeared! Can't say enough about how attentive Sue, Steve and the whole staff been for us. On every visit the resort is maintained impeccably and has just the right vibe of old Florida feel. The property is built in the old style of brick blocks and bright colors that fit in perfectly with the BEAUTIFUL grounds. Not too many people. . .no bustle of the crowd here; just a laid back old school calmness that starts when you awaken all the way thru incredible sunsets on the resorts only beach and quiet evenings on your private porch. If you're looking for all the activities and rush you get in a modern resort, this is not your place. If, on the other hand you're looking to relax and enjoy the Keys and forget about life for a while, look no further...you found it!

My husband and I decided on a whim to spend a couple of days in Key Largo for some rest relaxation. Island Bay resort came up on TripAdvisor as a great place to stay for couples; I echo that sentiment. With 10 cottages on this resort, the privacy and tranquility was second to none. Sue and Steve, the property managers were very attentive…booking our last-minute/day before reservation, warmly welcoming us when we arrived at the resort and chatting with us during our stay. They are amazing hosts! The cottage we stayed (#9 Coral Reef is a great efficiency unit and had everything we needed for our two days. The resort provided kayaks, paddle boards, and the bonus was an amazing sunset on a private beach. Definitely a must stay if visiting the upper keys.
USSo Homie. It was my girlfriends birthday and they brought us 2 cupcakes with a pin saying happy birthday! If it’s your significant others birthday, tell them and they do up the room.

The Host was very personable and informative. With only 10 cottages, and adults only, it was very quiet and relaxing, with everything you needed to unwind.
GBThis property exceeded every expectation we could have possibly of had. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with every little detail so well kept. Sue and Steve, the managers, go above and beyond for you in every way they can. The cottage we stayed in was incredible, from the comfort of the bed to the decor of the cottage. This place thinks of the smallest details. During our stay my boyfriend proposed to me on the private beach of the resort and Sue and Steve went above and beyond to even accommodate the proposal and make it incredibly magical for us. Even to the detail of phoning a dinner restaurant for us.
