This was a charming oasis retreat! The grounds are beautiful and lush with quaint cozy spots all around. Our cottage was comfortable and had a small kitchenette, which was very convenient. Our bed was comfortable and place was clean. The private beachfront was so relaxing with tiki huts and beach chairs and hammocks and wonderful places to just sit and look at the beautiful water and sunset. The resort had kayaks and water boards and snorkel gear for use. The on-site managers, Sue and Steve are the kindest people and made us feel very welcomed.! I highly recommend this place!
We had an absolutely amazing stay at Island Bay Resort. The grounds are so beautiful and well cared for. The room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We kayaked every day and enjoyed the sunsets in the evening. The staff were so welcoming as were the other guest. Once you drive through the gates you will never want to leave! I would give them 10 stars if I could!
Just what I pictured when I think of the Keys - tropical, lush, cute island cottages, well-equipped, only 10 cottages with a quiet, intimate environment! It is beautifully kept, down to every detail and the couple who manage it are really nice and are doing an excellent job!! Highly recommend!
Cannot recommend Island Bay highly enough! Absolutely everything there that you could possibly need….. spotlessly clean , both accommodation and communal areas! Sue & Steve are a wonderful couple….. nothing was too much trouble. Only wish we had stayed longer!
This place was absolute paradise. From the moment you enter the gate to the second you leave, it is an absolute dream. It’s a tropical paradise but even better because it’s so small and so intimate. The beach is quiet and never too busy. The cottages are absolutely adorable and meticulously clean. The bay is AMAZING. We had coffee on our porch every morning with the friendly little lizards. We kayaked and saw green iguanas in the mangroves. We fed the snappers off of the dock. Our last day at the resort, we saw 2 large sting rays and a 7ft nurse shark swim into the shallow area and under the dock. We will be back again and again. Absolutely amazing and the owner is the sweetest.
The location is great, the beach was secluded and gorgeous. We loved the resort and the best staff I have ever experienced on a vacation. It felt more like a vacation with great family. The rooms were very clean and the property is well taken care of. Visit if you want a great experience.

Steve and Sue were great hosts and the property was in excellent condition. They provided great tips on restaurants and places to visit. Will definitely plan on returning when visiting the Keys in the future. If you are looking for a place in the Keys put this place on your list.
This place is a real gem. I have been coming to the keys for 55 yrs. Yes you read this right. Thanks to all the obvious reason the keys have become a tourist trap and run by mega chains and hotels. If you like that then please stay away from this hotel. No offense to you, this is NOT that type of hotel and there is a place for them. Island bay is beyond perfect. Mostly because of the love that Sue and Steve put into for the owners. If you want peace, quiet, clean, warm staff, and in tranquility. You found it!
