We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a large clean room with a big comfortable bed, sofa, chairs and a coffee machine. The bathroom had a bath and an over bath shower. The room was characterful in keeping with the age of the building. You could hear people in the bar below, but buildings of that age weren't built with modern day insulation. The bar didn't stay open late, so it wasn't a problem. Our room overlooked the garden which was rather derelict. The hotel is on a road just set back from the sea. It is a short walk to the harbour. There is a hotel car park opposite. The West Bay Hotel is also a pub and restaurant. We had an excellent full English breakfast which was included in our room rate. The chap that checked us in was also the barman and the server for breakfast. He was very helpful.
Visited on the on the 16.09.23 had steak and ale pie the food was lovely and manager and staff all very friendly, So decided to visit again on 18.09.23 all I can say was the fish and chips were shocking. My mum who is 88 wanted to treat us to a meal while we were on holiday. We ordered 3 fish and chips, when they arrived I had 2 pieces of fish all batter when I spoke to the waiter he said they had ran out. So he didn’t think it would be a problem if he gave me the 2 bits, I did say it would be nice to be asked. He did say did I want something different but I declined as I felt my evening was already ruined. The fish was of very poor quality my husband and Mum were also disappointed. Such a shame as our first visit was very good. I did speak to the the 2 members of staff and told them our visit was ruined. I do understand it’s not the staffs fault maybe they could look into who supplies the fish or maybe we were just unlucky.
Came here for a family meal. Staff ok but they had run out of a lot of the menu, no seafood plater, catch of the day or mash potato and a few other things. I had the mussels and got really sick within. Service charge is a joke as we jade to keep calling staff for drinks ect. Also pricy

A nice hotel in a great location right on the beach with good parking in a safe area. Nice friendly staff with a chatty and pleasant chef. Dog friendly. The breakfast was excellent served by a super helpful young guy who did all he could to make our breakfast great. We really liked it. For a south coast beach hotel, this one ticks all the boxes.
The room was perfect, very clean and cosy with everything you need :) All staff friendly and helpful, food really tasty and fresh. We had a great couple of days staying here, will definitely be back :)
We had a lovely long weekend stay. Ensuite room was lush with everything you need. Breakfasts were great and the staff super friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach and great for exploring the area and Chesil beach.
