Hotel Pocillos Playa, solo Adultos

This hotel was just a perfect place for all my family. Quiet , modern and relaxing hotel so close/walking distance to everything you need for a fab holiday. Great ,ever so helpful staff, good food with plenty of choice for everyone and lovely modern accommodation. Rented bikes, visited Sunday market, did the hike to the Montana Blanca and lots of sunbathing and relaxing with all inclusive refreshments. Plus the perfect weather and lovely company of my family. What more could you ask for???

There was some refurbishment going on that we or the agency we booked through were not told in advance. As a result of that when we checked in to hotel Pocillos Playa, the receptionist informed us that we have to move to ‘an alternative accommodation ‘. Unfortunately this was not adequate to our expectations and standards…… Happy ending thought… After 2 days at hotel Beatriz and many phone calls back and forth between Booking.com and hotel trying to resolve this issue, we returned back to Pocillos Playa! Thanks again lovely Sonia and the team ! We truly appreciated.

Location of the hotel is great - near the airport and on the quiet outskirts of a busy resort, but still a reliable and frequent bus\taxi service into the resort. Super, clean promenade for walking and right beside the beach. Wi-Fi very good service throughout the hotel and around the pool area. Fabulous staff, extremely helpful, well informed and friendly. Bar and entertainment staff great fun and very courteous to guests. Our flight had been delayed, we arrived late to the hotel and the receptionist had dinner saved for our party. I observed this throughout the week, very thoughtful on their part. Communication with guests about the property and the area is good - via reception, the staff and also the display in the hotel lobby showing all activities for the day and week. Good variety of food and drink, very generous buffet at each meal. Especially loved the fresh breakfast bar - omelettes, waffles, pancakes etc. cooked fresh on request (similar at lunch and dinner). Restaurant staff were excellent. Housekeeping daily and towels changed every second day. Nice to have the option of the wellness centre and spa facilities while a guest at the hotel - good offers during our stay. On our last day, I was speaking to another guest and her family who had availed of a daily pass. They had checked out of their accommodation on the far side of the island and paid for a daily pass - it was good value and a great service offered by the hotel. They were onsite all day using hotel facilities / all meals and drinks (depending on the package they opted for) / use of luggage storage and showering facilities before their airport departure that evening/night.

Small suggestion - gym could be improved on. Not really a negative as there are plenty of sun loungers but very close together due to size of the surrounding area around the pool, it's a pity there is no more available space around the pool area to give \ allow more sense of space.

I was looking all over Europe for a hotel that was by the beach, close to the airport, minimum 4 stars and affordable. I booked it with 3 days notice and as you can imagine in peak summer things get very expensive. This one fits the bill as the reviews seemed positive. I have to look at this review with one mind on the cost of the booking. With that in mind, I must say it was money well spent. Things I enjoyed. Overall very clean, decent facilities, has a spa and a gym (although small and consists of just a bench and weights, but a gym none the less), excellent location very close to the airport it's only 8 minutes away and you're close to the strip of Playa da Carmen and the beach. Nice pool that has unrestricted sun all day. Food is repetitive but overall quite tasty. Things that could be better. All inclusive drinks are very limited and the cocktails will not get you tipsy in the slightest, the alcohol they use is very weak. Also the snacks through the day are mostly limited to some nuts and pickles and every now and then they might put some pizza slices out. The pool is COLD even in peak summer. They also need far more sun loungers as you will struggle to get one if you're not out there before 11am. Entertainment, bless them they try their best but it's super cheesy and naff but I guess there's a charm in that. Overall I can't complain. I did enjoy my stay and it was great value.

Very relaxing holiday just what we needed ,drinks could have been the real deal and not have to pay for branded alcohol, thats the only negative point ,otherwise all excellent friendly efficient staff and attentive . Excellent holiday . Thankyou

Small hotel with everything you need lovely

Two small negative dining room tables too close to food not enough room to get past without disturbing your meal. Night time entertainment could do with upgrading.

That it was available at short notice!! The hotel was in very good condition and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It would not have been our usual choice but a cancelled BA flight and 3 days until one available it was needs must. The hotel was close to the restaurants (although you could stay all inc. Breakfast was a bonus, which of a very good standard with lots of choice. It was a very quiet area. Being adults only was also to advantage. Buses were in easy reach and a taxi to/from the airport was about 13 Euros. The clean beach was within walking distance. And not a highrise hotel.

It just isn't what we tend to go for (ie lots of sunbeds round the pool-type), but if you like that sort of thing, it would be excellent.
