Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge

Arrival by bus through Princess cruises was as great as Delani, being handed our welcome packets with keys as we exited the bus, and could go straight to our room. Luggage delivery came a bit later, but when they brought our 2 bags, only one was ours. They delivered the same purple duffel bag twice more , after already getting our second bag. We had a great lunch and service at Traders Pub, and didn’t need supper, so just grabbed a snack at their express cafe later, which was great.The next evening, we went back to the Traders Pub for dinner and while the food was good, the service was not. They were seating by reservation and then a wait list, but then forgot us- once they discovered this and hurried us in, the server took our drink order, then our food order, and the food came immediately- the drinks not until we were just about done with our food. Reception- I went to the lobby computer station to print our boarding passes for the next day and the printer wasn’t working. I went to the reception and asked for help, and the man just stared at me. He reluctantly came over, pressed a bunch of buttons trying to reset it, never did, and just shrugged and walked away. I ended up just taking screenshots of our boarding passes with my phone. The last morning, transfer of luggage and guests was very efficient- luggage was in a spot for us to collect after we got off the bus at the airport , and then got through security, which was easy, it being such a small airport.

Good basic lodge. No fridge no coffee in reception area. Asked at desk best way to get to Walmart to pick up a few things they said by cab and called for us. It cost 30$. Found out there was a bus running it was free for anyone over 60 just need to have time and have to change buses 1 time. The drivers are so very helpful.

We are on a Princess cruise & this is part of our package. Keep that in mind. Positive: staff, views outside, outside deck by the river. Negative: hotel is dated, no gym, hot tub, live music in side or outside. There is nothing to do here when you’re not touring. People milling around & sleeping in chairs. No makeup mirror in room, hand cream, pen & pad for notes, no room safes. Definitely a factory, would not come back here or Fairbanks.

The property was pleasant. I was surprised the room wasn’t refreshed by the staff. Food at the hotel and store was very pricy in my opinion.

This hotel was 5 star in every aspect. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The service here is over the top! I needed moisturizer and Laurita, the gift shop Mgr, took time to help me. The gift shop was packed with lots of people getting their morning coffee and pastries but she took the time to help. We asked a question at the Tour desk and Kyle and another lady helped us with a problem in no time. We had dinner in the bar, the food was delicious, service was great and perfect if you want a sandwich or light supper. Do not hesitate to book this hotel. It is a great place to start your Land Cruise with Holland American Cruise Lines. On to Denali! Thanks for everything!

Not a good start. After travelled ng almost 24 hours, arriving at 2 am to be told our room had been given away. We were shuttled to a neighbouring hotel. A definate downgrade. They tried to blame the third party we had booked the room through for their incompetence . Day 1 of a bucket list trip and i can say for I will never travel Princess again ever.

Nice stay at the Fairbanks Lodge. Definitely a hotel style lodge. Not like the Kenai cabin style rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. For hotel style rooms, they were very spacious. Easy access to elevators and food. Buses for excursions pick you up right in front of the main entrance.

We stayed at the Princess Fairbanks River Lodge during the land portion of our Princess Alaska cruise and land tour. Rather than a 5-star hotel, it felt more like a 3-star, even though the price was very steep. There were issues with the room conditions and the service. The room lacked basic amenities that you'd expect at this price. No safe or mini-fridge was provided (I had medication that needed to be refrigerated), and the bathroom was outdated, with old tiles and no amenities beyond soap and shampoo dispensers. The slow drains and brown spots in the toilets added to the unpleasant experience. In addition, the Wi-Fi internet connection was quite poor. Even simple things like a pencil and notepad were not provided. The front desk staff was incredibly unhelpful. Despite paying for the previous night and having been assigned a room already (in other words, reserving the room starting from the previous day's check-in time), we were told upon our arrival at 11 AM to wait until 3 PM for our room and that we could not have our bags delivered until then. The front desk staff said multiple times there was nothing they could do to assist us; they were happy to just let us sit in the lobby and to not deliver our bags into our paid-extra room -- until we insisted strongly. It was frustrating and unprofessional. On the plus side, the staff at the Bar & Grill restaurant stood out as a bright spot. They were cheerful, attentive, and made lunch very enjoyable. The shuttle to town was an unexpected $10 per person extra each time; at this price point, it should have been complimentary. I would recommend staying at a smaller, more intimate hotel that offers a more personalized experience and better attention to guests, without the overwhelming crowds and impersonal service.

The room was clean, nicely laid out, very comfortable bed.

Affordable option for a good night sleep and an excellent meal.
