Oke Baik Hostel

It was a really good location, close to some restaurants, cafes, bars and supermarket. The staff was really kind and helpful. They tried their best.

There is no proper bed, just a matress on the ground. Everything is a bit dirty. It looks so different than on the pictures, we got an completely different impression. Very very simple furniture. There is no real bathroom. Just an old toilet and a shower next to each other, no sink, no toilet paper. We had only one very small blanket. They gave us all of it, after we asked, but would have been nice to come into an already prepared and cleaned room. Apart from the room, the house itself is quite nice.

Nice room with own balcony hidden in the central backpacker road.. Nice manager supporting for questions etc.

In high season the bathrooms could be cleaner etc

Location is great and it has a nice balcony.

Room and kitchen were dirty and had lots of insects. The, staff was absent during the day and very loud at night.

Staff member Cesar (spelling?) was quite friendly and up to chat. Location, as mentioned by others, was quite good! AC was good :)

I promise I almost never write bad reviews; I recognize when a place is a budget option. However, to make a long story short: staff was not welcoming, facilities are not very clean, and a valuable personal item (my earbuds) were found by staff in the room after check out and I was never contacted about them finding said item. When we first arrived with a reservation we were told that they were overbooked/full and that we would have to be in a completely different hotel. We said ok, but then after inquiring about a partial refund since this was not the hotel we had booked, they changed their minds and said there was a room available in Oke Baik, which was a bit weird. We were then made to feel like a major inconvenience for asking to stay in the room/ hotel that we had originally booked. A few small things: bathroom had lots of hair in it, staff members brought friends back to hostel late at night which woke us up, and we were only given one towel between the two of us (they said they were understaffed, which I fully believe). Also hostel seemed almost empty. But what really upset me and broke my trust in this hostel was the fact that my bluetooth earbuds appeared to be found by the staff after we checked out and I was not contacted. If I had not realized they were missing and stopped back at the hostel myself and searched the front desk (over 24hrs later) I would have never known that they had found my headphones. They were tucked away in the front desk drawer. (I would have asked the staff before looking through the front desk, but there was no one in sight after knocking for 5 minutes.) Benefit of the doubt is that they just forgot to contact me, but given the rest of our experience with this hostel I'm not sure.

Alex the owner was helpful when I needed something!

I guess it might be different wether you stay at the small house or at the big building. At the small house, the owner Alex and the other staff, leaves there. It was thus sometimes busy at late night with people talking and playing guitar downstairs. In my room, the bathroom floor was always flooded because it's not made properly, and thus the walls are showing humidity.

I liked the bedroom. It was spacious and clean

The bathroom downstairs I think needs to be cleaned often. The bathroom upstairs should be fully covered with roof
