La Fortuna Lodge

We appreciated the walk ability to just about everywhere in La Fortuna. Did a few tours through the front desk and they were excellent. The top terrace was a nice place to hang out in the evenings for a quiet drink. Breakfast was quite good, nice to have fresh fruit, and coffee available as well. Not 5 star but perfect for our needs.

This was a great spot close enough to everything for it to be walkable but still quiet. Being right in La Fortuna, all of our tours were able to pick us up straight from the hotel. What really set it apart was the staff, particularly Daniel! He really was a phenomenal and warm host and made our stay special. He gave us great recommendations for everything from tours to hot springs to dining and he was just a joy to talk with. Even though we didn't have a view to Arenal, we had a great and clean room, and the big shared covered patio with recliners and a lovely view was wonderful. Just because I look for this in reviews, the beds are pretty firm, but it was like that literally everywhere we stayed in Costa Rica. The galle pinto breakfast was good! It was pretty clutch for those early morning tours- although we did get a little tired of it every day, and was recommended breakfast at Café Raúl Castaño which had some of our favorite food the whole trip (Jalapas was also amazing, highly recommend). We would definitely stay here again.

Beyond helpful staff, beautiful view of the volcano, yummy breakfast, clean and cozy rooms and great location.

My wife and I had four nights at La Fortuna Lodge. It was a wonderful stay. While our room did not have a balcony as with some, we were quite pleased with our accommodation. We were on the second floor and enjoyed the mezzanine space just down the hall from our room. Our room was clean and comfortable albeit not overly large, the bathroom was pleasant with nice soap and shampoo, there was a small fridge to keep our drinks cool, and an ice machine was available near the registration desk. A four-item choice of breakfast servings was provided; the only suggestion is for one additional item not containing eggs (I enjoy eggs but my wife does not, so she had pancakes each day). Great coffee and juice. The location is about two blocks from the main drag, and that made it somewhat more quiet. Yes, the dog next door did bark about 4 a.m., but so what!!! I want to pay a special tribute to both Daniel and Mariella. They worked the front desk and also served breakfast on their work days. They were pleasant and very helpful with bookings of local tours, etc. The housekeeping staff also did a nice job when tidying up our room. All in all, highly recommended!!

Had a great stay, rooms were comfortable, clean. Location was convenient to downtown. Breakfast were very tasty. Would highly recommend. Great outdoor spaces to relax in. Safe location with secured entrance. Friendly staff willing to meet al of your needs.

Highly recommend. Super clean and nice room. Likeable common areas. The friendliest of staff and a good breakfast. Would very much recommend for anyone staying in la Fortuna. Easy to get around to nature outside the city center. I’m very sensitive to mold and other allergens and have had various experiences in Costa rica. This was one of the top places by far to have a few good nights of sleep.

We had a very pleasant stay! Everything was very clean, breakfast was great, and staff was very friendly! Very impressed with the overall accommodations.

What a find this place is. Right in the heart of town but away from the noise. it is perfectly charming and has direct access to very many bars and restaurants. It is modern, bright and scrupulously clean. Most rooms have private outdoor space as well as a generous lounge overlooking the street. Only one minor gripe, or room was spectacularly under lit.

Great location, clean property, loved the breakfast and lounge patio areas. Service was great and reception helped us with everything from a hair dryer to restaurant recommendations and excursion booking.
