Anchuca Historic Mansion & Inn

You can really tell that the staff wants the guests to enjoy their stay. The breakfast was tremendous. We had dinner there and it was awesome, I highly enjoyed the shrimp and grits. We had the cutest, most personable little server, but I’ve forgotten her name. My only complaint was the housekeeper asked if I wanted service and I told her I just needed to replace some beverages and she said she would do that. She never returned.

The history of the mansion brings it to life. The rooms are spacious in the main house and comfortable with added comfort of shower in bath. Coffee and waters in the room, and a lovely dining room restaurant with great food served and good conversation with its staff on the history of the mansion.

Of course, since house was built in 1800’s, no elevators, and if you stay in the main mansion, lots of stairs to climb and with seniors it may be a challenge.

The breakfasts are ample and served by the plate--quite good, with fruit. We ate one evening meal--again quite good with a very tender filet mignon. The staff (especially Michael) love their town and represent it well; the guide (Robert Terry) to the Vicksburg Battlefield they recommended is personally known to them and did a great job. The owners are quite young and locally prominent. Quite well done, all in all.

My husband and I love to stay at Bed & Breakfast when we travel. We had decided to do a trip to Vicksburg NP last minute and stumbled upon Anchuca. We went there with no set expectations but what a delight. One of best places we have ever stayed! The place was clean, the room was full of charm and character, the breakfast has my husband liking grits and the pool was such a respite from the hot day! We loved this B&B and only wish I could rate it higher than five stars.

Terrific accommodations in a historic antebellum mansion. Staff works very hard to make sure everyone has a great experience. The food is delicious! We will b back!
