The Strutt Arms

The check in and the staff were lovely both in the evening and morning, unfortunately the room was very hot- I did manage to turn the heating off, however the road noise kept my 5 year old up until midnight. We did attempt to go downstairs at 940pm however it was an on call number and the restaurant was shut-as we wanted to switch to a quieter room. Overall we got a few hours sleep so 3/5.

We were a little surprised when, having booked a room at The Strutt Arms, only to find it was actually called the Elephant and Pheasant and had an indian restaurant. On arrival there was a warm welcome and we thought the place was tastefully decorated. We were shown our room which was extremely spacious and included a large en-suite bathroom which had a double walk-in shower and a bath (and wc of course). We'd booked a table in the restaurant and can only say it was one of the best Indian meals we have ever had. Breakfast the bext morning consisted of a continental choice (delicious and light pastries) followed by a full english cooked to order. The staff were superb; so friendly, warm and welcoming. We thought the price was very reasonable indeed and will definitely recommended and hope to return. Thank you everyone.

Very clean and up to date in all areas. Staff incredibly hepful and polite in all areas. Great atmosphere. Faultless stay and highly recommed. Breakfast great as well.

We had a fantastic overnight stay here. The bar downstairs was a buzzing environment filled with locals and visitors alike. Our dinner was great quality and extremely reasonable. The room and bathroom were both spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast this morning set us up just right for a day exploring the local area. Many thanks to the management and staff for such an amazing place. We will definitely recommend it, and will do our best to return soon.

Not without issues, but enjoyed my stay! The staff are all fantastic! Nice location, easy parking, quiet. Breakfast is really nice but the food in the Indian restaurant is superb! The Biryani pie in particular was just sensational! Slight negatives: the mattress was seriously uncomfortable, shower was weak and uncontrollably hot and the TV remote was missing but these are easily fixed. I'd still happily return and will look forward to it!

Great spot to stay for our friends party … very helpful staff

The owner was extremely polite and helpful immediately we walked. The room was clean and equipped as per description. The staff were great and really polite and the bar and restaurant area had a nice atmosphere. Having dropped our stuff and gone for a walk we checked out some other options to eat but returned to The Strufg Arms. We were not disappointed. I’ve been lucky enough to eat curries in a number of countries. The Railway Lanb was. absolutely amazing. So tasty and depth of flavour was brilliant. In the morning we were served a full English that was lovely and again all the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend The Strutt Arms which is now known as The Elephant and Peacock.

Excellent stay good food nice big room and staff and service fabulous

Very nice rooms and friendly Staff. Down side no food served on a Mondays. Breakfast doesn't start until 7.30 am but on my stay the chief still hadn't turned up when I left at 7.50. Shame as it a nice place.
