Great location, stunning roof terrace, perfect for sundowners & with complimentary wine. Quirky building with lots of character. Very friendly & helpful staff. Delicious buffet breakfast. Our room was on the small side for the price but had everything we needed.

We loved this hotel. The room and location was amazing, but what ended up making our stay really special was when something went awry with the room—the staff was *outstandingly* helpful, going above and beyond, and it really made our stay exceptional. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, well renovated and tastefully decorated. Very clean. Comfy bed. Great shower. Air conditioning. Friendly staff. Very quiet location in the historic fortified town - no traffic. In-house roof terrace restaurant served excellent food. Google Maps makes Mdina look a lot bigger than it actually is, so you really hardly have to walk any distance to explore. Bus stops for the excellent Maltese Public Transport network are within a 5min walk. Central Valletta (Il-Bat) is 30mins on the bus. Also about 30mins on the direct bus to and from the airport.

In the room, it would have been good to have a better bedside reading light as they were very dim and I had to use my phone torch, otherwise switch on the big light which defeats the object of reading to relax before bed. The angle lamp shown next to the coffee machine in the photos would have reached the bed but the plug didn’t fit the socket and so it wouldn’t work. Breakfast was quite late, starting at 8.30, and the service was slow - driven by poor organisation in the kitchen whereby each table’s order was completed in full before the next-in-line was started. Breakfast food options were quite basic - not really as described (a la carte). You cannot sit outside for breakfast, which is a shame. I didn’t really see the point in having the swimming pool as it’s too small to swim in and the terrace is permanently set up as a restaurant, so no sun beds as shown in the photos. I booked the ‘Suite with Balcony’ which was, in fact, a small section of the communal walkway just beyond the door to my room, so not a thoroughfare but still in the communal space. The room description states ‘Landmark View’ - I could see the wall of the property opposite and, since the hotel was adjacent to buildings on all sides, none of the rooms would have had any different. I think the hotel needs to be a bit less creative with descriptions used on the website.

The service offered by Priscilla our receptionist was excellent very friendly and made us feel very welcome

The breakfast was very good, but the service was extremely slow. It took 45 minutes for our food to come and there was only two couples at the restaurant.

Het feit dat je voor een halve liter water €3,50 moest betalen, terwijl het water uit de kraan door de chloor smaak niet te drinken is en dat wordt ook nog toegegeven op schrift. Per dag wordt 0.75 liter gefilterd lauw water aangeboden. De prijs per nacht per kamer voor 2 personen is € 450,00. Nogal Dagobert Duck achtige praktijken.
