The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed . The shower had been recently modernised and offered plenty of hot water and the bed was also comfortable . Extensive satellite TV options were also provided.

The pub is located on a main road in the centre of the village and does not have the ambience of a country inn . Parking is limited in front of the pub adjacent to the main road and on arrival almost all spaces were full of tradesmens vans ( stopping for a drink on the way home). In the daytime locals take the spaces to go shopping and ensuring a space once you leave is a problem. The atmosphere is that of an urban "boozer" not a charming country inn . Staff were unsmiling, avoided eye contact and were unattentive. The bedroom was located near a storeroom which was in use from 6.30am and the outlook was over a petrol station. There was a noisy industrial fan outside the bedroom door and the carpets were not clean. Breakfast options were limited ( no juice or yoghurt ) and there was no offer of tea/coffee refills. Generally disappointing.

Das Essen im Pub war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich.

Die Zimmer sind einfach und unseres war zur Straße hin gelegen und eher laut. Die Matratze war weich.

Lovely large and clean room, extremely comfortable bed, modern and warm.

Bit of noise from pub but nothing to keep me awake,

The room had a large comfortable bed. The decor and facilities were fresh and clean. Staff were very efficient and check-in was smooth and unfussed. Would recommend a stay if you are visiting this beautiful area in Sussex.

No complaints.

The breakfast was good. I was disappointed with the access to the bedrooms. It looked very tired and need for refurbishment. The first room was well decorated and bathroom was very good. However all night there was a constant bang. We were told it was a boiler that had been repaired. We were moved to a better room for the second night.

A bit of road noise but ear plugs were supplied
