Charming hotel and restaurant, friendly staff, good food.

Our room was cold when we got there and the heating was incapable of heating it up quickly, so we spent the evening using a hairdryer to try and heat it up. A fan heater or something would have sorted the problem

The noise from the hand dryer from the public toilets, is very loud. Overall it was not a good experience

Breakfast options were limited, particularly for vegan and gluten free. No fruit juice or cereal options.

Disappointing stay overall. On arrival I was asked for the card used to book and staff took it away for several minutes, which felt uncomfortable. Restaurant service was poor, with staff often on their phones. The room was clean, but earplugs on the bedside suggested noise issues — which proved correct, as there was loud banging from what sounded like a vent or cupboard all night, resulting in very little sleep. Breakfast was the only positive. After leaving, I discovered two payments had been taken. When I called, I was told I hadn’t paid for dinner, despite my partner paying and having a receipt. I was told the extra payment would be reversed. After reading reviews, this seems to have happened to others, which is concerning. Based on this experience, I would recommend considering other places to stay.

Convenient location in the centre of Forest Row. Beds are comfortable.

The entrance to the "Balfour Suite" round the back by the massive extractor fan and bins is really not pleasant. Moved to an upstairs room which was better but also very dusty. Could be improved.

Great breakfast. Room was cozy and spacious. Lovely staff.

No proper door for the bathroom (had swing doors).
